"Time travelling vampire, Oh my!"
Io and Nicola
Io, she has spunk and is not afraid to say what she thinks, sometimes before she realises that she's doing it ;-)
The voices are fun and quircky, and easy to follow
Laugh, out loud a couple of time actually, this one remings me of Baltic and Isolde, and those were funny characters, the byplay is often silly, hot, and hilarious at the same time.
Oh I would love to have a Dark One as well, but I would be happy with more of the Dark Ones books on Audio, the ealier ones where as fun.
More Dark Ones please and the Corset Diaries as well on audio if possible, those are good books. We Need to see Christian, Allegra, Nell, Adrian and all the others, I would love to have those in audio
"Something is missing, Ah Yes! the action"
Lorelei King, easy the constant torment of Caroline by her mother
There is not enough action at least not for a Evanovich book, no explosion, no car chase thouth in this world it would have been a carriage chase, the book is not bad, but it's missing the action where used too, and it shows.
When Caroline has the bad guy at gun point and Jack propose
yes and no, I was willing to give the book a chance, but if I knew the only really big action was at the end I would have skipped a lot of chapters, I almost left the story a few times, I like old style tales, but even those need a few bumps in the road to interest me, this book was more about pleasing the parents and sneaking around, cute but booring after a while.
if you love a sweet and slow romance with not much action, this is for you, but if you need more Kaboom in a Evanovich book then go in another direction, thought you do get the happy ending, it's slow and sometimes frustrating to get there.
"Laugh out loud fun"
This one of my favorite Dark Ones books, it's funny, full of action and impossible situations
Nell and Adrian, the byplay always fun to listen too
I've read this book, several times actually since it's one of my Katie Macalister favorite. Thought I had a few hesitation at first getting to know the voices created for beloved characters, I had so much fun once the action started.
Betrayer or Betrayed or The cursed one
I've been hoping for years for this one, I'm very happy of the result so please more Katie Macalister, The Corset Diaries next please, then Hard days knight and Blow me Down, those 3 are the best, I would also love to hear Noble Intention and Noble Destiny.
"Or Pemberly by the sea the old title"
A good romance
Cassie and Calder of course
I've listened to several readers, I would I like a more masculine voice for Calder, but the storie was well told, so I'm happy with it
I've read this book before, under another title a few years back, loved it then, still do, the emotions are more sutle in this kind of books, more under the skin than tossed around but it's worth getting into this world and exploring it.
I love Abigail Reynolds books, there not thrillers but the pace is slow and you learn about the characters as go along, if you like a slow but steady romance with a few Austen twists, this is the book for you
"The sea meets Main"
I love Janet Chapman books for their nice and slow pace, there are of course some up and down but you get to know the characters, and enjoy some of there pleasures. I do also like the fact that the love scenes are more about the people and less about the sex, nowadays some books are almost pornographic, and when I read I often skip those parts if it's too much or too often, sex may sell, but not always, there is a thing as too much info. I usually get into the world of the characters and there world if I can relate, and these books are reader friendly with just enough magic too make it fun.
The moment Olivia sees the real Max
I don't think I heard her before, but I'll keep an ear out, this reader I like.
When Olivia made peace with Sam and Ezra
I would like more of these books please, there fun and comfortable to get in and relaxing to listen, at least if you like romance with a dash of fantasy.
"Dragons everywhere ;-)"
The visions of Isolde do slow the story a bit, I do understand the need for them but, I'm having too much fun with the antics of the now characters, so when we go into the past of Isolde and Baltic things are a bit frustrating.
More time with Baltic and Isolde in present time, those two togethers are so much fun together.
The voices are very distinct for each character so following the story line is easy
A tv series could be fun, the dragons and there universe have so much potential, with Jim in the middle of it of course.
Fun storie, if you can listen to them in order then come back to when Isolde and Baltic meet, it's worth a lot of laughs. The first time around you're following the action, but in a second pass, you can have a bit more fun listening to the outrage of Baltic at Isoldes requests. It was worth waiting for number 3 to relistened to this one. Have fun.
"Too dark for me I'm afraid"
Well I don't mind dark books if there a is humor but this one, is going down hill fast
the fact that she's tries so hard but always seem to fall short
the voices where ok, not the best I've listened but that wasn't the problem here, it wasn't my style of storie.
I didn't finished, maybe I will in a while, but at the moment this book didn't grab me, so I can't really fairly say. And it wouldn't be fair actually.
I was hoping for something with a bit of fun to lighten the mood, alas that wasn't in the card. I do admit I like lighter books, so maybe this choice was bad for me, writing a story is hard, making a book is hard, so I'm not saying the book is bad, but you must like dark stories, and characters who stuggle all the time. I like having a little fun along the way. So take care, you do have werewolves, vampires and things that go bump in the night, (oh my!) but it's a hard world and and a hard reality. So choose wisely. have fun reading, I sure will,
"One of her best one"
warm, funny and full of mishief
The swimming incident
She's a good reader, so her chartacters have there own voice, plus the story really flows, which keeps you interested.
Let see Don't judge a fictional writer by his grumpyness? Actually I really like the title, it really fits ;^)
Well I really enjoyed this one, lately I'm more into the supernatural stuff, but this one got it's grip into me and didn't let me go. Which is good, this got my attention and kept it. More please.
"Fun and interesting"
I love the characters, the story, I relisten to part of it all the time.
Lord Alkadema, so outrageous, and so fun loving
Well I've listen to all the Gail Carriger books, but not any other books, so I can't comment on other but these but I like the whole series.
Victorian vampire and werewolf Oh my!
I started the first book with hesitation, and wasn't so sure where the author was going, but once the action started, I was hooked, this serie is fun, romantic, and with outragous characters, with a bit of victorian world in it. I really enjoyed this one, and all the others in the series.
"Good but story but missing a real bad guy"
Yes, I laughed out lout a few times, the only real problem was no real vilain in this one, a few conflicts but nothing major enough to get more than a passing interest. The ups and downs of Yakki and Harry are adorable, but I wanted something more out of this one. a nice story, but just that, a nice one.
I was expecting something like what we got, but that was a good ending. Actually I wanted the story to continue.
Made me laugh
not really, but it was a relaxing story, something to listen when doing something else with your hands.
Not a great book from Katie, but a fun one. Keep them coming, I still love your humour and sence of fun.
