Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

After 14 books, you would think that there would be time in 900 pages to bring closure to the story, there are too many threads left open that could have been closed, the ones that were closed are not always done so in a interesting way and leaves you feeling that many things are pulled out of thin air to give some un-logical reason. The biggest change that is needed is the padding to be removed, over the last 3 books I have always had this underlying frustration that you just need to get on with it, they could have been 1 book 2 at most if the tedious elements were removed

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Tom clancy threat vector

Which character – as performed by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading – was your favorite?

Matt was my out and out star as read by both

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

If you are just starting to read the Wheel of time books, enjoy the journey it is a good one, the destination might leave a bitter taste in your mouth.

Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.
