Choice of narrator was excellent for this type of book. "Classical" High energy, marketing talk type, fits perfectly. The only better choice would be a celebrity reader, which would have fit very well with this book, but I doubt many A list celebrities would have agreed to...

I learned quite a bit of detailed information listening to this book, even some additional information on the parts I thought I knew about. The author really sounds like a marketing industry veteran in his field which helps give credibility to his book, along with references on how and where his information comes from. The information presented here also ties in well very to general Social Psychology.

This should be taught to children to help prepare them for the onslaught of aggressive marketing they will be subject to as they are growing up, and help them make more informed choices.

I highly recommend listening to this book.

This book is a light hearted and candid look at His Holiness the Dalai Lama during relatively recent very high profile events (and some lower key events, though still very important & informative, if not more so).

You can appreciate his putting into action what he says, and how he sees himself in world events. As a religious leader he attends events in which people seek his advice and the behind-the-scenes commentary in this book is very welcome to further understand some background stories at these events. Also very interesting is His Holiness' interest with western scientific methods to validate if what he says and believes holds true under scientific scrutiny by world leading scientists.

Narration is actually very good, at first I was taken aback by the different voices the narrator used, however after the initial surprise the reading flowed very well.

This is not really a book about in-depth Buddhist teaches and analysis, but rather a behind-the-scenes look following the Dalai Lama through some recent events.

I liked this book.

I enjoyed listening to this book. First, the narrator was a good choice. Second, the material presented was well researched and presented. The author & narrator manage to keep your interest even while laying out the groundwork on which they build from. The first few hours from many books of this type are a struggle to listen to, not this one.

The book is part instructive, and part inspirational which creates a good combination to actually MAKE you want go out and workout to see the benefits for yourself!

One of my best audiobook purchases.

A true classic.

I had never read the book, and see now why this book can still stand on it's own, and probably will for a very long time. The style of writing is a bit different in the varied way things & events are described which I learned a lot from.

The full cast performance, or half performance, was WAY below par. Either make a full cast production, or don't, but this half & half production was very confusing. Main narrator was excellent, but the constant mixing of him doing all the voices, and then going to a full cast was very distracting.

I started listening to this book with no real expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I found the material discussed to be well explained, supported with research references, and balanced.

Even when going into topics which the author clearly did not agree with, and he clearly states this before the topics are discussed, he remained refreshingly very objective and provided a very balanced view with references of these topics.

I was looking for well researched information and found it.

The premise of this book is using the internet seems to be changing our brain makeup, not necessarily for the better or worst.

Some parts were a bit drawn out, but overall I quite enjoyed listening to this book. First, the author goes through great pains to setup and create a comprehensive environment to explain his theory, and then goes on with supportive arguments, research, and citations. Of course some references seem to be cherry picked to support the author's point of view, but the fact these papers exist at all in creditable research should give pause to reflect on.

The biggest opponent I found to this book is the preconceived notions from the readers themselves before they start reading. It seems people either agree, or disagree, quite strongly with what is presented here with little basis on facts to support their subjective opinions.

I found the narration to be excellent, and recommend this book for those interrested.

What else is there to say? One of the most highly sold book in the world for a good reason.

Narration is also top notch, and a great choice for this book.

Belongs in everyone's library.

What it won't do is solve all the shortcomings of dealing with dyslexia. What it does do is give a MUCH clearer picture of what dyslexia is. What the shortfalls are exactly, and most surprisingly, and what psychologists seem to be discovering, the strengths are!

In dealing with dyslexia not as a problem, but as different set of strengths, it really put it into perspective for me. It has helped me tremendously in understanding dyslexia so I can in turn help guide those who are discouraged by it.

The narration is over the top "high energy" for me, but once you get past that, there is a lot of information there.

Highly recommended.

Very good story, very imaginative and entertaining listen. I think it lives up to the hype surrounding this book.

I was confused in places, dates & audio books do not especially go well together, you have to carefully pay attention. Also felt the story was over edited in places which could have been much more expanded upon, this is why I -1 a star.

Jim Dale was well matched to this story and did a spectacular job. Very dynamic, consistant and recognizable voices. Always great to listen to, top tier narrator few others can match.

I recommend this book if you like a good mix of fantasy & mystery.

First off I had no problem with the narrator, he did a good job on a very complex book.

The subject matter of this book is very complex and I would not recommend it to people who are not familier with buddhist concepts. However this book is a treasure of wisdom supported by analytical arguments which are very well structured and arranged.

This is THE best book I have read on this subject, you also REALLY have to concentrate while listening (not a light listen) . After listening (at least twice) you will have a lot of contemplation ahead of you...
