James Patterson's scariest, sexiest stand-alone thriller since The Quickie. Ben isn't like most people. Unable to control his racing thoughts, he's a man consumed by his obsessions: movies, motorcycles, presidential trivia - and Diana Hotchkiss, a beautiful woman Ben knows he can never have. When Diana is found dead outside her apartment, Ben's infatuation drives him on a hunt to find out what happened to the love of his life.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Do not bother with this book; it is not what you think. Not a bit "sexy". Thoroughly boring; had to skip to back of the book to read the finish. Did not identify and did not care about the characters or what happened to thing. I read most things by Patterson, but this is really not for me......

Ever since he can remember, Dom Joly has been fascinated by travel to odd places. In part this stems from a childhood spent in war-torn Lebanon, where instead of swapping marbles in the schoolyard, he had a shrapnel collection -- the schoolboy currency of Beirut. These early experiences left Dom with a profound loathing for the sanitized experiences of the modern-day travel industry and a taste for the darkest of places.

Where does The Dark Tourist rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I love to travel and the author was able to paint a picture so that I felt that I was there with him. Travelling to "dark places" does seem to give one a new perspective of what really took place and what being a tourist is. Even though the places he travelled were full of angst, Dom was able to bring events by telling the history of the place compared to present day.

For Hannah Shapiro, a beautiful young American student, this particular nightmare began eight years ago in Los Angeles, when Jack Morgan, owner of Private--the world's most exclusive detective agency--saved her from a horrific death. She has fled her country, but can't flee her past. The terror has followed her to London, and now it is down to former Royal Military Police Sergeant Dan Carter, head of Private London, to save her all over again.

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

  • If This Isn't Nice, What Is: Advice for the Young

Master storyteller and satirist Kurt Vonnegut was one of the most in-demand commencement speakers of his time. For each occasion, Vonnegut’s words were unfailingly unique, insightful, and witty, and they stayed with audience members long after graduation. As edited by Dan Wakefield, this book reads like a narrative in the unique voice that made Vonnegut a hero to readers and listeners of all ages. At times hilarious, razor-sharp, freewheeling, and deeply serious, these reflections are ideal for anyone undergoing what Vonnegut would call their "long-delayed puberty ceremony".

    "Absolutely fascinating."

What did you love best about If This Isn't Nice, What Is?

Full of wisdom, facts, history and just plain "who knew"?

What was one of the most memorable moments of If This Isn't Nice, What Is?

That most of us think the same things he does, but he articulates that feeling so well.

What about Kevin T. Collins and Scott Brick ’s performance did you like?

    Excellent

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

What I wish I knew before now....

    Any additional comments?

    Loved the book.

Marc Maron was a parent-scarred, angst-filled, drug-dabbling, love-starved comedian who dreamed of a simple life: a wife, a home, a sitcom to call his own. But instead he woke up one day to find himself fired from his radio job, surrounded by feral cats, and emotionally and financially annihilated by a divorce from a woman he thought he loved. He tried to heal his broken heart through whatever means he could find - minor-league hoarding, Viagra addiction, accidental racial profiling, cat fancying, flying airplanes with his mind - but nothing seemed to work. It was only when he was stripped down to nothing that he found his way back.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

nothing good have made this experience better.

Would you ever listen to anything by Marc Maron again?

    No I would not.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Marc Maron?

Would not matter; it was "offal".

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Attempting Normal?

    I would never have published.

    Any additional comments?

Do not waste your money or time on this trival.
