Booklist calls the world of Hugo Award winner Elizabeth Bear’s spellbinding Jacob’s Ladder series “magnificently populated, well worth visiting.” Here the trilogy that began with Dust and Chill draws to its stunning conclusion. The passengers of the generation spaceship Jacob’s Ladder have found a new home at last. But the planet Grail is already inhabited - and its population of genetically engineered humans has no intention of sharing the world.

AndreaOwens says: "Could not get into this series at all."

If you could sum up Grail in three words, what would they be?

    A pleasurable listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mallory. Can't argue with a levelheaded necromancer.

    Any additional comments?

This final chapter brings clarity to the entire series, and is, as the others, a delight to consume.

War is forever. The people on Earth no longer remember how the human race was nearly obliterated centuries earlier during the terror visited upon them by the merciless Xul. But the Star Marines, 30,000 light years from home, know all too well the horror that still lives.

What did you like best about Galactic Corps? What did you like least?

It was interesting the concept of how the the universe works was presented.
Got a little too political and waaaay to pro marine bravado.

Would you recommend Galactic Corps to your friends? Why or why not?

    No.

Chaos has erupted throughout the known galaxy, threatening countless colonies and orbital habitats - as the Associative struggles vainly to keep the peace. Extreme measures are called for in these times of dire crisis, and the Star Marines are awakened from their voluntary 850-year cybe-hibe sleep. But General Trevor Garroway and his warriors are about to discover that the old rules of engagement have drastically changed.

What did you like best about Semper Human? What did you like least?

The concept of quantum sea and its implications are fascinating.

    Any additional comments?

The story is almost destroyed by the sappy nostalgia about Marines and their history to a annoying level. In the first book it was annoyingly frequent enough, but in this book it goes way(!) overboard.

Hugo Award winner Elizabeth Bear has been called one of the best science fiction authors of her generation. In Dust she skillfully spins a classic science fiction trope - the lost generation ship - into a complex and compelling tale of fallen angels, secretive family politics, and sexual taboo.
