I was a bit disappointed on the ending. Or maybe there's a sequal coming :) But on the whole nice chick-lit.
Since I finished this book a week ago, I don't think my cheeks have still recovered out of all that smiling I did when listening to it. Not only is Laurel Lefkow my favourite narrator and such a talent, the story is truly funny. After Second Assistant, I was on the fence, but this one truly tipped the scales. Please, please, please someone convince Mimi and Clare to co-author another book on Lizzie and Luke.
I didn't make it past 1hour. I was so looking forward to another Joe Barrett narration, but whoever of the narrators starts off, is very obnoxious and pompous voice. Couldn't get into the story at all, although, it sounded like an exciting one.
The plot was easy to listen chick-lit, perhaps a bit unpredictable ending the "best friend" was sometimes even more interesting character than Brooke, but I just loved the narrator. She put so much life into the text, good job!
In over 30 years I've put a book down, literally or voice-wise, only a handful of times, but this turned out to be one of those times. The first part, Jean's narrative, is interesting, riveting, captivating. Their experience is amazing and scary. But the second part... boring, detail-oriented, unrelevant. I would have appreciated the historical accident reference for a bit, but it seemed to go on and on and on... I just could not listen to anymore, I'm sorry.
This book is well-balanced, not stretched for too long. Predictable, but excellently simple for exercise listening. Cotton candy sweet :)
So far this has been an excellent listening. The reader is very good, and while it takes quite a bit concentration to stay with the story (so many characters and fast-paced events), it's very exciting. Quaranteed Clancy :)
