"The Wonder Years"
Wasn't a huge Job's fan and tended to steer away from Apple products due to the excessive prices & closed ecosystem they created but I do admit after the book I do have more respect for the products and Steve Jobs. The book has some interesting insights and some annoying insights. A fan or not this is an interesting story being able to see inside views of the creation of an empire. Interestingly there wasnt a word on the exclusive deals Apple had with specific mobile carriers for the Iphone?
"Too Short"
This book has some great information as to why our government is disfunctional and how we got to this point. I didnt look at how short the book was which feel the price is steep for such a short book.
"Fantabulous!"
I admit the first book didn't fully have me begging for more but after book 2 I am begging! I liked it so much I had to go back and listen to the first book and see what I didn't pick up on the first time around.
"Cured my Good Book Craving"
Was a little scared to get this book as I was expecting it to be intended for the geek squad. I am in the trenches with technology but not quite obsessed with it so I was curios what "techno thriller" is. Turns out this book was amazing with never a dull moment. It did take a few chapters to get my interest addicted but once it did...watch out! considering when this book was written it does amaze me how much knowledge the author had at the time on where we were going.
I feel the second book was a little better than the first but still super enjoyable and lost of action with new ideas and insights on how technology can intertwine with our world.
This would be an amazing movie... hope to see it out one day.
"Damn Good!!!!"
I cant say this story would be for everyone as the plot of the story ties in a lot of technology which some people may not enjoy but even for people not fully caught up in technology would still be able to follow the story.
For anyone that has a tickle for technology this is a must read. The book is like roller coaster taking you up and down and all over never to be left bored. I now consider this one of my top 5 books and will listen again. Just wish it was a trilogy!
"Interesting twist with a cliff hanger"
Seems like just about anyone could enjoy the twists and turns this book takes. The book is an easy enjoyable listen with a few various aspects from suspense, to a little young romance with a big helping of mystery.
The book did keep my interest through the entire story and the twist revealing the schools secret was unexpected. The ending left me thinking WTF?! with a million ideas on what was going on. I will be keeping an eye out for the sequel.
"Morphing Review"
I'm a little confused how to explain my review as when I originally listened to this book I thought it was OK and would have given it 3 stars. I delayed getting to book 2 but kept with it since the reviews on Insurgent were much better and they were right. I deeply enjoyed book 2 and after finishing book 2 I had a new appreciation for Divergent and had to go back and listen to it again. I'm glad I did because after being more familiar with the story and characters I picked up on a lot more than I did for my first listen.
I originally had a hard time following this book due to trying to keep the various factions separate being some have similar names but each one represents something specific which I was stumbling through trying to associate each faction to each character. This also lead to problems keeping the many characters in check that started out in one faction and changed to another followed by changing their name etc. Maybe I have a simple mind but I enjoyed the book more the second read after I was more familiar with the characters & factions.
I would recommend this book but warn anyone that may feel unexcited with it to continue with Insurgent to smooth out the edges and give you new insights into the original book.
"The Benchmark for Audio Books"
I usualy dont purchase fiction books but since I missed the movie thought I'd settle for the audio book. The story & writing on their own were amazing but then you add in the awesomeness of the narrating and wow! I have not had a better experience with an audio book as of yet. This audio book took every second of my free time and stole some of my daily life as well. If you dont get this one you are missing out.
