"Easy enjoyable listening"
Great book. Well worth the credit. It keeps your interest even though its a day to day diary of events.
"Outstanding Perspective"
I appreciated hearing the perspective from the German fighter pilot's side of the war. I have a whole new appreciation of what they were about and what they were fighting for. This is a remarkable book and one of the best that I have ever listened to. Get it now. You will not be dissapointed.
"Prophecy?"
If the author really has received a prophecy, why does he have to put it in the form of a novel? Why not just spell out exactly what the prophecy is? I kept having this thought as I tried to listen to the book. I got about 3/4 of the way through and had to move on.
"Not a Stand out Book"
I have read a couple of Gladwell's books and they are informative but I find they all start running together and even have some of the same information in each book. I found this interesting at times but not enough to get excited about.
"Good story but lacked depth"
Overall, I enjoyed this book and think the story is compelling and needs to be told. I enjoyed having the author read the book because he could put his own emotions into it. I really wish the author would have put more details into what it was like having a drug addicted son. What were the early signs? What did it do to the rest of the family? What exactly went on? I feel like this was glossed over and the book would have had much more impact if the cold hard facts were laid out for the reader. It was almost as if the author really wanted to tell the story but was embarassed by the details. I still would recommend the book because this is such an important topic and the story is good.
"Strangely Fascinating"
While I was listening to the book I kept asking myself how someone could live like that but in reality I believe we all think it would be cool to live like a rock star. He seems to be totally genuine and tells it like it is. The behind the scenes revelations are particularly interesting. I went to the 5150 tour when I was a kid and it sucked because I thought they were all wasted and put on a terrible show. After listening to his story, my intuitions were right.
He has had a strange and unbelievable life and I love his spirit and drive. I couldn't wait to get back in my car after work so I could listen to some more. I never realized he was such a great business man. Well worth the credit but don't get it if you get offended by the F bomb and lots of sex.
"Relevent for today"
Very interesting book on how a church and a nation can cave in and lose their way when they feel they need to appease the masses. Presbyterian USA members would be well advised to read this book after what happened at the July 2011 conference. This has happened in the past and could very well happen again.
"Narration was irritating"
Farily good book but the narrator was very irritating when he went into his mountain man voice. I appreciate the effort to try and sound like a mountain man, but it would have come off much better if he would have used his normal voice. There were some good stories that were interesting and there were also times when the book just droned on.
"Disappointing"
I was expecting more of a true life adventure but this was extremely slow and boring. I only listened to one half and could not finish. Dont waste the credit on this one.
"Great Insight on Two Great People"
I thought the book was great and well worth the listen. The book gave great insight into the passion and dedication that both players had for the game. The only complaint I have is the book did not flow well during the first half because the authors were bouncing back and forth from the NBA days to childhood and it was tough to follow at times. It got much better on the second half and had a great ending.
