I enjoyed this book. It started a little slow for me, but picked up speed quickly. I've read a few history books on the Israel/Palestine struggle, and it was nicely blended into the story. My only criticism is that I didn't appreciate the use of the F word multiple times. I wish authors would at least keep it pg-13!
I really liked the book, and immediately downloaded and listened two the next two books in the series. I didn't find out that the last book wasn't available on Audible. Ouch!! I find myself waiting to listen to a book that was written many years ago, about a war that happened many years before that. Definitely listen to the books. I just wish I would have waited until they were all available on audible. Now I am in the dark on whether the war will be won or lost:) I just hate waiting!
This is the third of a 4 volume series. I enjoyed it, but was surprised to find out that the 4th volume is not done yet. What??? I wish I would have known that before I started the first book.
I can honestly say that this book was a chore to listen to, and the pastor's thick Texas accent made it a painful 5 hours! Make sure you listen to a preview of this book before you buy it. I made the mistake of thinking that this was a book on setting goals, or actually achieving personal greatness. Unfortunately, it was simply a 5 hour sermon. In a nutshell, attitude is everything, and with God's help, you can do anything. No practical steps, no how to's, just "think and it shall be so".
Joel Osteen is a pastor, not a self improvement guru. Maybe you need healing, maybe you need help with your attitude, but that's all you're going to get with this book. I myself am a deeply religious person, and I feel a bit bad about such a negative review. However, I feel like the book was misrepresented a bit by it's description.
Just listen to the preview before you buy it!
