Kabat-Zinn is a good, smart and funny guide into the world of mindfulness. I strongly recommend his book to everyone who feel the need for some stress-reduction in their everyday life.
Teaching philosophy is challenging, in the form of an audiobook even more so. For how can one make complicated reflections into simple sentences? I don't know! But I do know that this is what Garfield does in this audiobook. He makes deep thinking comprehensible, he makes philosophy matter!
If you're looking for the meaning of life - well, go ahead, listen to this!
As always; very uplifting to listen to Pema Chödrön, even (or maybe especially) when pain is the subject.
What I like the most about the work of Kabat-Zinn is the lack of mysticism, and the down-to-earth practical guidance he gives us throughout his writing.
I use this book as a reminder and source in my own everyday mindfulness praxis, it is informative and full of well tempered humor.
The only negative side to this production is that there are to few chapters in the audible version of the text.

I would love to reread this book, it's a simple but at the same time very intriguing story. It is as if Brookner is inside her characters, an inside which is rather blank except for chilling winds of emptiness.
I think this is a typical Brookner novel, in a positive way.
Anyone, Scales is terrible at this, she does not manage to give the characters in the story a personal voice.
