I'm not a big fan of war stories however this book was gripping and was so well written, Ray Porter really brought the book to life with his narration & portrayal of each character in the book, Ray Porter is an excellent narrator separating each character without being overly dramatic, he did a perfect job! Listening to audio books (which I do almost continuously) if you have a great book with a bad narrator it ruins the whole thing, I've left many untouched because the narration was so terrible, it's also the same with a great narrator and terrible writing, but these came together perfectly, I'd highly recommend this book and Ray Porter to anyone!
If the author would insist on having these books narrated by someone who doesn't sound like someone learning to read aloud these could be very good, the narrator unfortunately ruins it, I couldn't even make it through the first book, a shame! Get Scott Brick or Ray Porter to narrate this series....please!
narrator ruined it
horrible narration, no affect at all, droning on and on and on....ruined it all!
would have if not for the narrator
horrible (I can't express how horrible) the narrator is!!!
The narration was excellent
This was truly a wonderful book, well written, great story line and well narrated, I would highly recommend
I really loved this book, Scott Brick is the best Narrator, he can bring a story to life however no matter how gifted he is in his narration he cannot make a bad story good, in this case he didn't have to attempt it, excellent story, excellent narrator, perfect marraige of both! Worth a credit and then some!
If Scott Brick had narrated this book as he has some of your others this may have gotten much better reviews, but these narrators where just plain boring!
In my opinion it didn't live up to expectations based on the first book "Eat, Pray, Love".
I was not disappointed, LOVED this book and Scott Brick brings it to life! A great sequel to The Lions Game! It also reminds you that we can never feel as safe & as separate from the rest of the world as we did pre 9/11.
