"A very important book for our time."
Hedges has outdone himself again...this is an important work in the contemporary intellectual scene.
"Where would we be without Hegel?"
George Hegel...what a treat. If you have even a remote interest in one of the great philosophical leaders, you owe it to yourself to procure this particular work. Just a fine introduction to Hegel's works and philosophy.
"Hume for almost everyone"
David Hume is one of the most important philosophers and this work does him justice. A good introduction to Hume's writings and his life.
"Important, though not well read."
Descartes' Meditations are probably one of the more important philosophical reads a student should work through. Though this book takes the listener through them (all six)...unless you're really into learning, or being exposed to this work...Paul Hecht just doesn't do it justice.
"Good introduction"
American Pragmatism is one of the greatly misunderstood philosophical ideas. This particular introduction does a fine job of explaining both the historical and intellectual background. Some very important areas of pragmatism are cleared up in this work.
"A most excellent introduction to Kant"
Kant is difficult and this book is a nice introduction to his life/work for the general audience.
"Great Read"
I have a tendency to only go through a book once...but this is one of those that ought to be gone through at least once.
"An important read for our time"
It's very difficult to fully grasp the importance of this work...Andrews has outdone himself again, and this work is critical, not only for understand a dark period in world history, but more important for understanding how this could actually happen in our own time and place.
"A Most Excellent Book"
As a history/philosophy instructor, I can honestly share this is one of the more critical books everyone owes themself to work their way through. Just a very important book on the underbelly of American History.
"NIce story"
I wanted to see what the excitement was about for these books...I'm glad I did...it was a good book.
The Story is a nice rewrite of historical legend, set in relative modern times...
Didn't really have a favorite scene...I just enjoyed the entire book.
This is an important contemporary read, and Collins does a nice job...it's different than Harry Potter, but you'll discover some of the same themes. Good Read.
