It’s been two years since the world ended. Two years since the dead rose and the plague of ex-humanity decimated mankind. For most of that time, the superhero called St. George, formerly known to the world as the Mighty Dragon, has protected the people of Los Angeles at their film-studio-turned-fortress, The Mount. Together with his fellow heroes, he’s tried to give the survivors hope and something like a real life. But the swollen population of The Mount is becoming harder and harder to sustain....

"2nd better than the first and the first one rocked"
    Overall

I was hoping for a 2nd book after buying "Ex-Heros".

Have to say the second book is better than the first.
Audio production is great and the story takes my loved Heros into what could be a cliche' ridden direction, but instead it takes all I love about heros and zombies and gives them both a great new lease on life. It was awesome.

I may sound like a fool but after hard syfi, history, and bios,... this is all just great fun for me
I have listened to these books several times and keep enjoying them. Give this one a try. It stands alone if you have not read the first but if you hear this on you will have to read the first.

    Thx again Mr. Clines

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden has had a rough couple of weeks. As the only openly practicing professional wizard in the Chicago area, he has squared off against a multitude of supernatural bad guys. Harry has won the day against demons, poltergeists, sorcerers, trolls, vampires, werewolves, and even an evil faerie godmother. You might think nothing could spook him. You would be wrong.

Would you consider the audio edition of Grave Peril to be better than the print version?

Well I have to say I am hooked on the Dresden Files. Grave peril is as good a neo pagan book as I have read.

If you are getting into the series for the first time please realize the first two books are crap. Not bad reads but compared to the rest of the series you can tell the change in voice, effort tone and quality.

If you are not going to stick it thorough the first two please start with the third book. you are not missing much and it will give you a fair example of his work.

    Hope this helps.

Fascinated by vampires? Then this book - the first of a series - is for you. Early writers of vampire stories did not see them quite as they are presented to us today. These "classic" vampires were looking for blood - not love. These shivery reads will capture your imagination and introduce you to the first fiends - male AND female - that spawned today's kinder gentler vampire.

In The Swords of Lankhmar, a plague of rats overruns the capital city and glittering gem of the land of Nehwon. Commissioned to guard a ship of grain from the cursed rodents, brother-in-arms Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser soon discover the plague has progressed to a fatal point. Mustering the strength of sorcery, they descend into the depths of Lankhmar and rise to battle in order to save the soul of the ill-fated city.

I am a huge fan of Leiber but this story neve caught me up. It was a lot of disjointed chapters with no main thread.

I have enjoyed the Mouser and Fafhrd but either the production or the story does not seem to lend itself to the audio format. I was hoping to like this but I am sorry I wasted a credit on it.

Stealth. Gorgon. Regenerator. Cerberus. Zzzap. The Mighty Dragon. They were heroes. Vigilantes. Crusaders for justice, using their superhuman abilites to make Los Angeles a better place. Then the plague of living death spread around the globe. Despite the best efforts of the superheroes, the police, and the military, the hungry corpses rose up and overwhelmed the country. The population was decimated, heroes fell, and the city of angels was left a desolate zombie wasteland like so many others.

Aser Tolentino says: "Superheroes vs. Zombies? Sure, why not..."
"A great read if you like heroes or zombies!"
    Overall

Ok, I am writing to recomend this book to anyone who can lose themselves in a new world.

    I loved it.

It has a great mix of superheros, their origins, classic coming of age sections, along with the end of the world. I like the way zombies come to be.

I have read the second book as well and it only gets better.

If you are someone who likes to follow characters over more than one book I can reccomend this one for sure.

Full of realistic dialogue and some great pop culture references, this book says what we all would be thinking if the zombies started taking over.

    I can’t recommend it enough

The cast gives a great audio performance and never crosses into the dreaded "Acting" that seems to hurt some audio books.

    Great job Mr. Clines.

M calls this case a "soft option". He sends Bond to Jamaica to investigate the disappearance of the head of the Kingston station. Jamaica is luxurious, and the seductive Honey Rider is beautiful and willing, but they are both part of the empire of Dr. No.

    James Bond.

If you have only seen the movies then you really need to download this book.

It is well done and the story lends itself to the format. A great way to start your Ian Flemming addiction because once you start you have to read them all.
