Great book if you are at least inclined to think that money and profits are not evil. If you think that trying to earn more and accumulate wealth is exploitation you'll hate how this book challenges your erroneous mindset.
Author does a great job of discussing the purpose of business and money as helping others via volumtary exchange. His insight and interpretation of ancient biblical stories was fascinating to someone who was raised Christian and had heard many of them before but never with this level of historical analysis and
The reader was good but SLOW! I ended up listening to half the book at 1.5 or even 2x speed. He does "gulp" air in the beginning as one reviewer said but either he stopped or I stopped hearing it.
The negatives are the minor issues with narration and the author would go on fairly long tangents but he would ultimately tie it back into the story.
Top third. Nothing really earth-shatteringly new in the book but he delivers the material in a nice package to see the contrast between top-down planners and the bottom-up liberty perspective.
He sticks with a theme of intuition tells us 'X' but reality tells me 'Y' that he uses to debunk the planners/statists/socialists theories.
Nice even delivery with enough emphasis or emotion to show he is into the subject but not distracting.
Yes. I need to take notes on the rules and his ideas for better performance.
Very enthusiastic performance. His voice would get so high it would crack not so often or so bad that is was annoying...it was sort of endearing actually.
No. I listened to each rule at a time. It is more involved so I would read it while walking my dog or cleaning up...can't do it while working on something (that's one of the brain rules!!!)
Loved the book. Great stories help convey the dryer facts - it is amazing how much we have learned about the brain as a result of strokes and odd brain trauma!!!
This book conveys the tragedy of war for all. As a combat vet of Iraq I feel that my tour was a walk in the park compared to WWII. All citizens should read this book to help them understand the price that was paid to defeat the nazis.
The narrator also does an excellent job, his various accents help the flow of the book and his delivery, tempo, and tone were perfect.
