The Mongol army led by Genghis Khan subjugated more lands and people in 25 years than the Romans did in 400. In nearly every country the Mongols conquered, they brought an unprecedented rise in cultural communication, expanded trade, and a blossoming of civilization.

Would you listen to Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World again? Why?

I would READ the book instead.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The author's foreward, which was essential for framing the book, was tacked on at the end of the recording rather than placed at the beginning. This was a terrible mistake since it answered all the nagging questions that bothered me while listening to the body of the book.

What does Jonathan Davis and Jack Weatherford bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Unfortunately, it is just the opposite for this particular book. It is difficult to follow and appreciate the narrative of conquest without the maps contained in the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    History's ultimate bad rap
