I really liked all the books in this series however the narration left something to be desired. Couldn't tell the difference between the characters and the narrator added some funky accent, which since the location was eastern seaboard, it didn't seem applicable and just further annoyed.

This book was very single layered. Most of the in death books have subplots going on throughout the story. This one didn't. It made for a very shallow read. Not something I could sink my teeth in.

The narrator also took about 1/3 of the way into the book to recover her character voices that she has established so well in all the earlier books. I've always loved this narrator but in the initial chapters both Dallas and Peabody sound whiney and flat and very very unlike their characters.

I have been very disappointed in Nora Roberts writing in general in the last several books she's written. I just hope that she doesn't go the way of Patricia Cornwell and become an author that just writes the books to fulfill contractual requirements. Maybe she just had an off year. With the number of books she has written she should be allowed some leeway and support. I will still count the months until the next release.

I love all Anne McCaffrey's books and this one does not disappoint in the story line. I was, however, disappointed in the narration. It is hard to tell the difference between the characters and the reader just plods along. I found it hard to listen to. There are so many better narrators out there.

The book was o.k. not my favorite of the series. The narration could have prejudiced me as I had a lot of trouble getting into the book due to the bland narration.

The narration of this book is awful. The first book of this trilogy was narrated by the same individual and it received many reviews indicating poor narration. I had really hoped that there would be a change in narrator. The female characters all sound alike and are so nasal sounding that it is extremely hard to listen to. It is really unfair to the author to have her book represented in such a poor manner.

Get a new narrator.

The book was great but the narrator was not. The narrator of the first two books was fantastic. It was easy to identify the differences in the characters, each had a distinctive voice, both male and female, however with this book I have great difficulty determining the differences between the characters. What a disappointment. The characters lack depth due to a bland narration

I'm having a real hard time getting through this book. The accent is horrible. Makes Ayla sound like an idiot. Now I hear she has the same accent in the next/last book. I'm considering not even listening to it and buying it in hard copy instead so I don't have to listen to that painful accent. In the first four books she spoke normally. I don't get it

Something about the narration is off a little bit or maybe I'm just prejudiced to Dick Hill's narration style. Hard to tell the difference between the characters but the story line is pretty good

Always like Anne McCaffrey books but very disappointed in the Harper Hall trilogies due to the narrator. The narrator's pronunciation of names, etc. is off. Would be better if narrated by a guy. There is always a better range available i.e., falsetto as well as the deeper baritone ranges. It is horrible listening to MH Robinton sounding like a girl. The narrator that narrated the Dragonriders of Pern did a much better job and definitely would have made listening more pleasurable
