"For All Who Love Paris"
This is a wonderful book about a family that moves to Paris for a year. It follows them through their year, the adjustments, the fun of exploration and the magic of Paris. I couldn't stop listening.
"Dave Barry should stick to what he does best"
Boring, not at all Dave Barry's typical fare. He shouldn't try to write novels.
"Author missed the mark on this one"
I have enjoyed all the other Robert Amiss books but after an hour of nonstop rambling, I had to give up on it. Also the change to a different reader did not help.
"Wonderful intro to Indian Customs with great story"
I knew very little about the wedding and marriage customs in India, other than the weddings are elaborate. But this book with a great story line and great naration, capitvated me. I couldn't stop listening.
"Halfway through and no useful information"
The first half of this book is extensive descriptions of people and their problems. I have yet to find any useful information - how to's, steps to unclutter, etc. This book seems to be written for therapists. It is basically useless and the title is very misleading.
"Great book but reader doesn't cut it"
It's a shame I love the Beaumont books and have listened to them all multiple times but so far the right reader has not been used, I think we are into the third or forth one. This last one did not provide any change between characters so it is hard to follow who is doing what. The story was great, and its nice to see Beaumont move forward in life.
"Indepth characters - always good listen"
Louise Penny is the master at providing in depth characters and making them real. The Quebec setting is always fun. The story development builds slowly and surely. Always a good listen. The reader is perfect, don't ever change or I will not recognize the characters.
"Don't bother - not helpful"
I am familiar with Self Hypnosis and this isn't the one to use. The methodology may work but the method of delivery will annoy you not fix your anxiety. Look elsewhere.
"Not as Good as past endeavors"
This book seemed a bit contrived, almost like 'well it's time for a new book but don't really have anything to write about'. There were two plots going on and the writing just wasn't as smooth. Just don't know what the problem was but this book didn't keep me engrossed at all. Maybe it's time to retire Inspector Brunetti.
"Story okay but wrong reader"
I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them more than when listening to this one. The story takes place in Texas and the readers accent was just wrong for this book. All in all the book dragged for me - not sure if it was just the reader or the story, or a combination of both.
