I liked the cat because of his personality. The story had a lot of potential but was a very frustrating listen due to the girl in the story always second guessing herself or being super annoying by over thinking EVERYTHING! Most issues could have been resolved if she'd just communicate! Ugh!
Otherwise it's a good listen when you don't want to make your brain think.
The cat. I found the neighbor's career quite interesting.
She's a bit too breathy. You end up concentrating on her breathing verses reading.
No not really. The story has a great potential if we'd remove the hours of second guessing and overthinking from the main female character. If she would just commuicate her thoughts I think it wouldve been a far more interesting and fun story!
Premise is good. Had potential.
I tried, really, to get through a good chunk of chapters to see what all the commotion was about for this book. Then I had to fast forward for it was not the best romantic book I've ever read. Love scenes weren't that steamy either.
The author's twang was unnecessary. Her voice in "And one last thing" was far better. Just because your character is from the south doesn't mean you have to be so annoyingly twangy.
Again this author writes about a female character that overthinks everything, over analyzes, and has dumb assumptions. You know not all women are dumb, many of us do communicate to our love interests and/or people in our lives. I think if the main female character would do the same it would make for a far better and more exciting story!
"And one last thing" in my opinion was a far better book than this one. Story could have been put through the 'cutting room' before publication. It would have been a far funnier and more exciting romantic story.
Only to recall and refine what I heard as "tips" in the relationship department.
I liked learning about her background. However I'd rather learn more about the "how to's" of getting into a great relationship and keeping it fresh.
Haven't seen other books from Patti on audible. Would be nice to see if I'd like the other books. One has to remember that this book is written for the female audience. You really have to have an open mind when listening to this book. I think now that I'm much older I'm seeing what Patti shares is really great common sense advice. We girls miss it and I'm sorry this book wasn't out when I was first dating. I never got such great advice! :( However there's still time for me yet to apply what I've learned. lol Only time will tell if it worked...
Why is it that authors have to write stories about female main characters that overthink everything and come up with very bizarre thoughts (frustrating assumptions) rather than just communicate to their lovers? I think if we cut this behavior out, it would make for a far better and more exciting story!
It's a typical young love story about 20 something's falling in love. They act like high schoolers just learning how to love for the first time in a relationship.
The very ending of the story was good. Then again when the book finally ended, I finally finished suffering through the main female character's non-stop false assumptions of what every action or word her new lover had. Why is it that author's mostly write about wishy-washy women with no common sense, strength, or brain? Had the main character communicated she'd save herself and me from the grief of hours of nonsense and wasted time!
Great story! Buy the book in order to enjoy. You won't be disappointed. Narrator just ruins the book and she narrates all three books of the series. Such a shame! Becca Battoe is more suited to read a dictionary not a thrilling romance novel.
The narrator's voice had no emotion or expression. This is such a fantastic book with exciting story lines and the narrator just ruins it all the good parts with her rambling voice.
Do yourself the favor and just buy the book!
Purchase the books in the series not the audio.
