Phil Lesh first met Jerry Garcia in 1959 in the clubs of Palo Alto, California. At Garcia's suggestion, Lesh learned to play the electric bass and joined him in a new group that blended R&B, country, and rock 'n' roll with an experimental fervor never before heard.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Searching for the Sound?

I really like how Lesh looked back over the events of the dead and spoke more about what was going on culturally at the time, rather than at how the band was feeling at every moment.

Have you listened to any of Phil Lesh’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yep.... But I think this was his first book.

    Any additional comments?

This book is not just about the music and the drugs. It's a real eye opener on one man's philosophy. Lesh does a great job covering a ton of material, and being more than open about his own short comings or disclosing an event as a "how he remembered it" depiction. If you like the Dead or just a fan of music or the 60s, 70s, 80s and their culture, this book would be a good read for you.

When I bought this book there was only 1 review of it and it was a bad one. I only mention this, because after listening to the book, I don't agree. Is this the best Reacher book ever? No. However, this is another book in the series that gives you a deeper look into who Reacher is and why he is who he is. I'm personally listening to all of these books and found this to be a great book. Don't let a bad review send you running.

I'm a HUGE fan of this series. I like the way that Lee Child changes up his narration point of view from book to book. I also like that any one could jump in at any book in the series and not feel left out. (*Nor does he over do repeating things already known by faithful readers.) Just a great read! Dick Hill is really good too. I'm not as down and out on the other narrator as some people reviewed. Both have strong and week points. But the story really speaks for itself!

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

If you could sum up A Dance with Dragons in three words, what would they be?

    Amazing
    HUGE
    Captivating

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Dance with Dragons?

Seriously? All of it! This book is HUGE! But Dotrice keeps it interesting and the plot thickens so much in this book!!! READ IT!!!!!

Have you listened to any of Roy Dotrice’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, all of this series. Not as good to be honest. He changed the voices of a couple of main characters not only from all the other books, but half way through this one as well. With that being said, I would listen to NO ONE ELSE tell these tails. He's juggling 30 something characters! He really makes these books for me. I hope that he gets into reading other stories.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

    Any additional comments?

I can’t say I have ever been a big book on tape guy, but now with all the traveling I do, I’m really into it! This was one of my first series and I think it will be hard to beat! Get into these books, and if you know of any other amazing series please let me know!
