Seabiscuit is a good story and has several interesting pieces to it but how many horse races can you listen to on the radio and not get a little lulled into blah blah blah? I liked Man o War better.
This book had me from the first disc. Every step of the way had twists and turns that kept me looking forward to my commute each day. Many interesting facts from the real world melded into the story so you end up wondering exactly where truth dropped off and fiction picked up. This was the most intriguing story I've gotten from audible. I wouldn't have thought it possible but it knocked "Jester" into 2nd place.
I saw the review that said this book started a little slowly. It was true, but it did all tie together eventually. Once they hit the sea, all was saved! Great story, great reading, made my commute seem to go by in minutes. I've given this book to a friend.
Jester was a twisting and turning tale that kept my interest the whole way even though it took 12 CD's to finish it. Fun history with blood and guts and a romantic high ground, I was guessing until almost the end. The reader also did a nice job in switching between characters - excellent!
