Attention, the ideas, tips, and tools given in this book will make you money. Whether you need to market your own business, are looking to be an internet marketer, or consulting, the time spend is worth it. The book is great for beginners and to mid-level experts. For the mid-level experts, you'll skip a chapter hear and they're, but there's unique ideas, contacts, and mind sets that could be helpful. The author does read a bit slow, which for some is great, for me, my attention span could last for about half hour at a time. But I have the attention span of a cat, take this for it's worth.

Overall, good advice. Worth the time. The key, is implementation. If you're not willing to take the time to take his advice to the next level by actually doing the work, learning the lessons, and taking a chance, than life is too short and get a good novel.

    To your success!

  • Understanding Michael Porter: The Essential Guide to Competition and Strategy

Michael Porter’s groundbreaking ideas on competition and strategy have unfolded over three decades and are spread across a dauntingly long list of publications. Every manager can name individual pieces of his work - competitive advantage, the value chain, five forces - but no one, not even Porter himself, has put the entire puzzle together to reveal it as an integrated whole. This lucid, concise audiobook does just that. This book provides an engaging summary of Porter’s ideas and an invaluable synthesis of this important body of work....

Joan reaches between the lines of Porters work. Providing specific examples, view points, insights, and how to's. I say how-to loosely. Her discussions and points of question are more of a frame work that can be modified to meet the specific needs of individual industries. The author also challenges previous perceptions, and miss understandings of Porters work in relation to competition, profit, growth, and strategy. This book is well worth the time to read or listen too. The only negative, is the author refers to work sheets within a chapter designed to aid and compliment points of the discussion that are not available through Audible's download.

Listen to this book and send your nonverbal intelligence soaring. Joe Navarro, a former FBI counterintelligence officer and a recognized expert on nonverbal behavior, explains how to "speed-read" people: decode sentiments and behaviors, avoid hidden pitfalls, and look for deceptive behaviors. You'll also learn how your body language can influence what your boss, family, friends, and strangers think of you.

I may be slightly slanted since we have the same last name, but overall the book was good. Great detail and PDF example for visual examples. This is the first book of it's type I've listened to or read, so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I thought the author was entertaining, had a good, clear voice, and was entertaining. The book/audio is we'll organized and broken out step by step of different body languages. Also, very honest, gave warning of how not to use the book and was eye opening on how honest people can end up behind bars. Overall, I enjoyed the lessons, the stories, and the book.

Most of us think of sales as convincing potential customers to believe or do something they don't really want to. But that cutthroat mentality makes the process much harder than it has to be—especially in an economic downturn, when customers are more suspicious and defensive. It's far more productive (and satisfying) when salespeople think like Go-Givers and focus exclusively on creating value for the customer.

This book is loaded with key business mindsets. Not necessarily a how to, even though it has that as well. The book's goal is to provide the reader a clear definition of giving. Why giving is so critical to a businessmen long term success, but that also good management, value products and services sold at a fare profit are just as important. The book has the balance and understanding that one cannot give if your business can not be self-sustaining. This is a great book for those just entering into sales, marketing, leadership, and as an owner/manger. It can be a bit soft/slow. Parts will challenge some peoples ego, as well as potentially upset those that are self-centered or narcissistic, but that's OK, because you'll learn how giving will benefit you. The key is balance. To listen to the book, understand your style, and look at how blending the two can add to your business, your life, and your relationships.
