"A "Morningstar-ed" Book Three"
I haven't given up on the author; the first two books were great. I just wont jump on buying until some reviews are posted.
I'd hoped book 3 would continue in the same style as the first 2 books. The story was choppy and rushed, with huge gaps missing in the action. The radical departure makes me wonder if it was even the same author.
Frustration and disappointment. This was a huge missed opportunity to wrap up the story.
I understand military messages begin with a long string on numbers and letters. I get it. Listening to the narrator read them aloud is VERY annoying.
"Narrator Kills this Story"
The Saga of Seven Suns is an incredible epic SF story, and I plan to continue to the PRINT version of the remaining books. I have no grips with the story line, only the new narrator who turned book 4 into a hillbilly western. Changing narrators is seldom a good thing and in this case an absolute disaster. I just wish I'd known about this before starting with book one.
Realizing the narrator was mispronouncing so many character names and that they were not new to the story line.
Anyone who'd listened to the first 3 books could have done a better job.Seriously, what was the man thinking?
"Slow Paced and Devoid of Plot"
Probably. I'm a big fan of the lost fleet series, but found this book incredibly boring. Don't expect the epic space battles and fast moving plots of the earlier books in this series.
How about some action and character development? This book is political intrigue minus the intrigue.
I couldn't keep the dialog between characters straight. The narrator sounded as bored with the story as I was.
The book has no redeeming value and adds nothing the the Lost Fleet series.
"Wrong on so many levels"
Not likely. I thought the overall story concept sounded interesting, but quickly became absurd. A computer programmer leading the Fleet....really? The main character is an incredibly arrogant jerk. I developed an intense dislike of him. I'd downloaded books 1 & 2 for a long road trip but gave up halfway through book two. (Go Worms!)
None really lived long enough. We're introduced to dozens of likable characters quickly killed off by "Admiral" Kyle's stupidity.
So many to choose from...probably the scene of Kyle lusting after a women moments after his kids are shredded to bits. What a prick.
