Interviews with eye witnesses weren't embellished to make the story better. Many of the accounts, ironically, produced more believability by exposing emotions of a nature of what you'd expect from normal people. Some people had nothing to say. Thats normal. Sometimes the message is in the way you completely change your life to cope. That also speaks volumes.
Especially interesting and eyeopening is the testimonial of a career officer who reveals his story in a notarized letter to his family after his death.
