Alpha wolf Ridge Addison left his wife in Las Vegas, vowing to put their one reckless night of passion behind him and return to his clan. Thirteen years later he needs a divorce so he can become pack leader. Yet he's never forgotten the sensuous witch whose life he saved...Or the knee-buckling kisses he still craves. After they parted, Abigail tried banishing Ridge from her memory. Now her heart belongs only to her son. But when the boy is kidnapped, she knows she alone can't save him.

The reviews convinced me to try out this author - and the synopsis cinched it for me. I loved the idea: kidnapped child, desperate mother forced to ask her ex to aid in the rescue. But in listening, I quickly grew impatient while the hero and heroine had romantic, charming moments - too many moments - where the child was not on anybody's mind except mine. Made it through several hours, but finally gave up. Couldn't even finish this book.

In Northern California two successful CEOs are both indispensable to their growing companies' futures. Both are brilliant at the power game. But the difference between them is huge. One is a man, the other a woman. In this riveting novel, Danielle Steel explores what that means as she takes listeners into the rarefied world of those at the pinnacle of international business and reveals the irrevocable choices they make, what drives them, and how others perceive them. The heady drug of power impacts everything they do.

There are those - including myself - who have issues with Ms. Steel's writing. It can be redundant and predictable. Why then, have I read nearly everything she's written? Characters and story. In POWER PLAY, Danielle Steel does what she does best: She's created characters that we care about and/or are curious about from page one. Then, she takes us on an adventure - this time in the corporate world. As I listened, I realized how accurate her hypotheses were about powerful men versus powerful women. And when I drove down the road listening, agog, at the male protagonist's actions, I had to admit they reflected the equally astonishing actions of real-life persons in power. And, yes, there's romance here as well - and it's lovely. POWER PLAY is well written and well-read. If you're a Danielle Steel fan, you will absolutely enjoy it.

Virginia Dean wakes at midnight beside a dead body, with a bloody knife in her hand and no memory of the evening’s events. Dark energy, emanating from the mirrors lining the room, overpowers her senses. With no apparent way in or out, she’s rescued by a man she’s met only once before, but won’t soon forget.... Owen Sweetwater inherited his family’s talent for hunting the psychical monsters who prey on London’s women and children, and his investigation into the deaths of two glass-readers has led him here.

I'm an Amanda Quick fan from way back, and bought the print version of this book when it was first published. I had a tough time getting started, though. It didn't grab me as most of Jayne Ann Krentz's other historicals have. I bought the audiobook because I wanted to get through this one, since it's part of a series. Ran into the same problem. The reader, however, was wonderful and made the audio version as entertaining as possible.

Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson's sexy sire Gabriel has always been unpredictable, but the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow -- alone, upset, and unsure whether Gabriel just ended their relationship without actually telling her.

I'm always a little wary of vampire books - probably still traumatized by Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot.' However, Molly Harper's story of this fired librarian turned blood sucker is funny and sweet; and makes you oh-so-thankful it's a trilogy. Props must also be given to reader, Amanda Ronconi, who brings variety and warmth to this comical cast of characters. Love this author and reader!

Even in Grundy, Alaska, its unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem.

This was the first book I've read by this author and was very pleasantly surprised. Also, being a Southerner, it was great to hear a reader with a believable, slightly-Southern accent. Certainly one of the most entertaining audio books I've listented to in a while. Indeed, I can't think of the heroine or the varied cast of Alaskan characters without smiling.

Definitely my favorite Feehan listening experience so far. Having suffered through some painful narrations of Christine Feehan's wonderful books, it was a relief and delight hearing Natalie Gold read this story. The characters' voices fit the contemporary setting, the action scenes kept me riveted; and (since this is a novella) it was over much too soon for me.

Dark Descent is a captivating, tension-filled love story, and a completely satisfying read.

I truly enjoyed Feehan's story; but this narrator must have heard he was reading a 'vampire' book, and decided to channel Bela Lugosi. He was one step away from "I vant to suck your bloooood." A different narrator - with a more modern voice for our hero - would have definitely made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience.

Enjoyed the characters - had difficulty at times keeping them straight (narrator); but found a contemporary Carpathian Feehan introduced here particularly refreshing.
