  • Honor Bound

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Sandra Brown
    • Narrated By Renee Raudman

Aislinn Andrews met Lucas Greywolf under unusual circumstances – she caught the escaped convict raiding her refrigerator. But was he a troublemaker who aroused dissidence among Arizona’s Native Americans…or a hero who’d gone to prison for a crime he hadn’t committed? It didn’t really matter now, since Lucas Greywolf had taken her hostage. He was going home to the reservation of his birth, honor bound to pay last respects to his dying grandfather. And Aislinn was his ticket home.

    "Old School Sandra Brown"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I read this book years ago and really enjoyed it. I listened to it again and still loved it. I did notice the difference between Sandra Brown then and Sandra Brown now... it is interested to see how authors hone their craft over the years.

What three words best describe Renee Raudman’s performance?

Renee Raudman did a credible job - easy to listen to.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

  • The Blonde Geisha

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 31 mins)
    • By Jina Bacarr
    • Narrated By Gabra Zackman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In the ancient Japanese tradition of beauty and grace, sex and erotic fantasies are hidden secrets that only a select few may learn, and which are forbidden to foreigners. But when a threat to her father's life puts her own in jeopardy, young Kathlene Mallory is sent to live in safety at the Tea House of the Look-Back Tree, where she is allowed to glimpse inside the sensual world of the geisha.

Novie says: "NOT my cup of tea"
    "What a disappointment"

This book is a major disappointment. The author goes way overboard with her erotic descriptions and senarios, to the point of boredom. It's rare that I don't finish a book but I couldn't force myself to finish this one.

  • Dearest Enemy

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 18 mins)
    • By Nan Ryan
    • Narrated By Gabra Zackman

Susanna LeGrande lost her fiance, her brother, and her beloved home to the Union Army. But her grief only strengthened her resolve to spy for the Confederacy. The once-pampered Southern belle charmed her way through Washington society, falling brazenly into the arms of Rear Admiral Mitchell B. Longley, a commanding Union sailor. She seduced, used, and loved the powerful man.

Kathy says: "Could have been good but wasn't"
    "A good read"

Nan Ryan has never been one of my top ten favs but I may have to reconsider. In dearest enemy her character development was thoughtful and believable. While the ending may seen a little predictable it was well written and, again, believable. This book was a good read, well worth the time.
