wherever James Lee Burke takes you, there you are. this book is a trip to the Alamo. The book is too short but every single minute of it is worth the read. The narration is fantastic. I think I have read almost all of Burke's stories and this one is a good yarn. His descriptions of the old west make you smell it and feel the grit in your teeth.
This is one of the best books I have read in years. The story is edge of you seat suspense, with a spy style love story mixed in. The writer worked for the CIA so it just doesn't get more realistic. Narration is excellent. This book left me racing back to the computer to see if Jason Matthews had other books. I could not believe this was his first. Destined to become a must read classic.
These are the first three of a series, the next is The Hand of Thrawn. Listen to these first then the race back to the computer and buy the next.
Great writing, wonderful story and ten star narration. Star Wars has never been so good. These are meaty, rich stories that will keep you up at night, and late to work. Perfect!!!
This is a fantastic series. Narration is ten star. Each character voice is unique which makes following the story a pleasure. The story is rich with detail but never overdone. This writing takes you to that special place Star Wars fans know and love. I hope Timothy Zahn writes another series, I eagerly await.
Another great story. Love the Greyman and this is a rich story with a look at new technology that we should all worry about. Found it impossible to hit the stop button.
I really enjoyed the story. I recently read the stand by Stephen King. This is a similar end of the world tail except that the world is blown up instead of killed by a man made virus. the tales of survival are similar. Swan song is scarier. I couldn't stop listening to it practically finished all 34 hours without a break. The narration of this book is absolutely superb. if you're driving across country take this book with you and you'll be sure not to do any sightseeing or get out of the car.
Enjoyed the story. Andrew Peterson is a good writer. There are three books in this series. I liked the first two the best. The third book is a builder for future stories.
Fast paced, I listened to all three in one gulp. Fun.
Read this book years ago but the revised edition is better. I loved the book. Stephen King has the ability to bring you into a story like few others. Very thought provoking.
The narrator, Grover Garder, is fantastic. I think he one of the best in the business.
I really liked this book. I agree with his very excellent and well presented research on the problems wheat is causing in our diet.
After the second chapter I stopped all wheat consumption. That was five weeks ago, and I have lost three pounds. I am not fat, but was getting a wheat belly. It has gone down two belt notches and I feel much less bloated.
Mainly, I feel much better, I don't have the wild cravings for crackers and cookies I was living on.
I now understand the cycle of glucose intake and how it effects my body, and why.
If you struggle with weight, rashes, mood swings, low energy, READ THIS BOOK.
The narration is excellent but it does have medical and scientific terms so have a dictionary
handy. He mostly explains all the terms but it will be daunting for some and stop others.
I recommend he write a consumer edition and scale back on the scientific nomenclature.
This is a VERY important book, it needs to be read and understood by the masses.
Sad to say many of the masses can't read well enough to get through this book.
Loved the book. I like action stories where the bad guys get wasted and this book does not disappoint. The hero is pretty much a super hero in many ways but it is a story, who wants normal?
The narration is very good as well.
