    The story was contrived, needlessly complex and delivered in the most pretensious style. When the intial story gets totally boring the author has the audacity to pat himself on the back and actually write

    There aren't a lot of Sweedish books to be turned off about.


    How did the narrator detract from the book?

    He had to read the drivel that passed for a novel.

    A good editor would cut at least two thirds of the characters, and then throw the rest of the manuscript in the trash.

    This is the type of book that happens when just about anyone is allowed to use a word processor.

    “Agent Zigag” is a riveting and informative audiobook; I looked forward to my long commute, just so I could listen to the story.

    The author spins a delightful narrative, recounting numerous real life exploits of a WWII spy. The story contains a wonderful balance of history, intrigue, romance and action. But overall it is a story of personalities, moralities and human frailties that makes the listener wonder: how he would react under similar circumstances?
    A full 5-star performance.

    In case you didn’t know it, the Navajo indian name for ‘boring’ is: “Blood and Thunder written by Hampton Sides and narrated by Don Leslie.”

    Normally I can’t wait to turn on my Ipod and listen to my audiobooks. With “Blood and Thunder” I kept hoping I would run out of batteries, that someone would interrupt me or that my ears would just fall off. When none of this happened frequently enough, I decided to delete the book without finishing it.

    The narrator sounds pompous and the author has confused the art of story telling with the task of writing a shopping list. Some how this anti-dynamic duo have turned a great story into a very tedious affair. There are some great audiobooks out there; this just is not one of them.
