  • The English Girl: Gabriel Allon, Book 13

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Daniel Silva
    • Narrated By George Guidall

Daniel Silva delivers another spectacular thriller starring Gabriel Allon, The English Girl. When a beautiful young British woman vanishes on the island of Corsica, a prime minister’s career is threatened with destruction. Allon, the wayward son of Israeli intelligence, is thrust into a game of shadows where nothing is what it seems...and where the only thing more dangerous than his enemies might be the truth.…

Judith says: "Gabriel's story takes huge strides"
    "The BEST of Silvia"
If you could sum up The English Girl in three words, what would they be?

    Powerful! Dynamic! Suspenseful!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot was interwoven into the story line as only Silvia can do! I figured it out only to read another chapter and have to regroup!

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

It's difficult for me to think its only a single reader, the voices are all so unique to each character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh YES! Thank goodness we had 3000 miles of traveling in a car!

    Any additional comments?

I love Daniel Silvia and once again was not disappointed! Can hardly wait for the next one!!

  • The Highway

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By C.J. Box
    • Narrated By Holter Graham
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When teenagers Danielle and Gracie Sullivan take a clandestine car trip to visit their friend in Montana, little do they know it's the last time anyone will ever hear from them again. The girls and their car simply vanish. Cody Hoyt, who's just lost his job and has fallen off the wagon after a long stretch of sobriety, is in no condition to investigate. But his son Justin, who the girls were going to visit, and his former partner, Cassie Dewell, convince him to drive south to their last known location. As Cody makes his way to the remote stretch of Montana highway where the girls went missing, Cassie discovers that there have been scores of similar disappearances in the state.

    Lorrie says: "No, No, No!!!!"
What did you like best about The Highway? What did you like least?

The characters fall right into place book after book. I like CJ Box, read all the books, however this one was a little too dark for me. Not sure I like where the story line is going for the next book.

Would you recommend The Highway to your friends? Why or why not?

Probably would recommend with some reservations! Because of the story line!

Which character – as performed by Holter Graham – was your favorite?

Cody has always been "My kind of guy"

Was The Highway worth the listening time?

Yes I'm glad I listened to it.

    Any additional comments?

Don't understand why the protagonist has to be so crazy/sick!!
