Would you listen to Kill Decision again? Why?

Yes, I like the realism of Daniel's books. He is able to craft a story that makes you believe that this could really happen!

Would you be willing to try another book from Daniel Suarez? Why or why not?

Definitely!! I absolutely loved Daemon and Freedom so anxiously awaited the release of Kill Decision to Audible. Although not in the same vein as the Daemon/Freedom books still a wonderful thriller that keep me on the edge of my seat.

    Which scene was your favorite?

*Spoiler Alert*Loved the chase scene with the Professor

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yep!

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life. When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted.

As always, Lisa Gardner, did not disappoint. I loves how she is able to tell a story from various character perspectives and although I thought I knew who the mastermind was I didn't figure it out until the investigators did (which to me makes for a more exciting book!)

Definitely would recommend to anyone who enjoys her other novels.

I love Larry Correia's books. I've read all his MHI books and his Grimnoir books as well. This book had the unfortunate feeling of being the middle book in a series even though it's book number 4. I liked the additional background that we got on the evil that Zee will have to eventually fight, but didn't feel like the storyline moved along that much.

Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely read the next book in the series, but this was just not by favorite.

His books routinely top the bestseller lists in northern Europe, and he's won just about every Nordic crime-writing award, including the prestigious Glass Key Award-also won by Henning Mankell, Stieg Larsson, and Jo Nesbo. Now, Dutton is thrilled to introduce him to America.

if I had not figured out who did it 1/4 of the way into the book. I was really liked the main character though so I kept listening to see what would eventually happen to him, but I do typically like more difficulty in guessing "who done it"!

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I had been looking at this book for a long time, but the synopsis didn't really grab my interest. It wasn't until someone compared it to "Lost" (which i loved) that I decided to give it a shot.

I'm glad I did. It started off slow, but I like the buildup and the weirdness. It was a really good story and I ending up really loving the book.

I read a lot of Dean Koontz. I enjoyed this book, but not as much as some of the others. Also after reading some of the reviews for the sequels this will probably be my last "Odd Thomas" book.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

I finished the entire series a few weeks ago and I must admit that although all 3 were really good this one was my favorite. The characters were not "superheros" (yet) in this book and therefore seemed more human.

Don't get me wrong I definitely was hooked after this book and quickly listened to the other 2, but his was my favorite.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Sure, the ones that like SF.

What other book might you compare The Rook to and why?

It has the Council structure of the Dresden Files, but that is where the comparison ends. The main character had her funny moments, but nothing compared to Harry.

Besides that one aspect it was pretty unique.

Have you listened to any of Susan Duerden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Overall, I liked the book and the concept for the story. Some of the things I didn't like were the constant journal reading at key "action" moments of the story. It kind of affected the momentum of the story for me when that happened as well as confusing me with how what I was hearing related to what was just going on in the main timeline.
