A good narrator can make a mediocre book great or horrible. With this, it was a mediocre book, meaning there wasn't a lot of surprised. The narrator didn't do anything to make the book more interesting. At times it was hard to follow because there was no change in between the male and female characters. Over all I was pretty disappointed.

    P. J. and Cole were sharpshooting rivals on the same KGI team and enjoyed a spirited, uncomplicated camaraderie. Until the night they gave in to their desires and suddenly took their relationship one step further. In the aftermath of their one-night stand, they’re called out on a mission that goes terribly wrong, and P. J. walks away from KGI, resolved not to drag her teammates into the murky shadows she’s poised to delve into. Six months later, Cole hasn’t given up his search for P. J., and he’s determined to bring her back home where she belongs.

I loved the story in its written form but I was very disappointed with the reading of this book! For myself, the biggest difference between a bad narrator and a good narrator is their ability to interject emotion in the reading. The difference between a good narrator and a great narrator is someone who can make all of the voices emotional and distinctive.

What disappointed me was that this new reader seemed to have no idea who or what the established characters were about! Rio is from RIO DE JANEIRO. He’d have a Portuguese accent and if that accent was a bit much, a Spanish accent would have worked. Something distinctive! Steel one of the biggest meanest looking men on the teams had a little wimpy voice with almost no distinction from anyone else. One of the team members is from Texas. Even a bad southern accent would have been preferable. What bothered me the most is there was no distinguishing between the male and female voices.

I think that if Harry was too busy to do this book in time for the coinciding release dates I would have preferred to wait until Harry was free to read this book. At least he has a grasp of all of the key players.

I fell in love with KGI series after reading The Darkest Hour. If you are in the mood for heartbreak, forgiveness, and redemption then this is the book for you! As always I hate giving anything away but this book made me run out and buy all of the books in the KGI series. Maya Banks has the unbelievable talent with her writing to draw a person into the story and anchor you not only to the main characters but to the secondary characters. So much so you anticipate their stories just as much as the main story.

Harry Berkeley is an amazingly talented reader. He brings such warmth to each of the characters and is the perfect complement to Maya Bank’s writing talent. Now if Recorded books and Audible would get book two out before book six comes out next year!

What I love about Maya Banks is that she knows how to write a strong female character without turning her into a raving, you know what and her male characters know how to be strong as steel with an inner core of sweetness!

So to put it simply if you are a fan of Maya Banks this is a series for you!

As always I encourage Audible to get the rest of the series as soon as possible!

Daisy Minor is bored. Worse than that, she's boring. A plain, small-town librarian, she's got a wardrobe as sexy as a dictionary and hasn't been on a date in years. She's never even had a lukewarm love affair, let alone a hot one. So when she wakes up on her 34th birthday and wonders how it is that she still lives with her widowed mom and spinster aunt while her friends have all gotten married and started families, she decides it's time to get a life - and a sex life.

As with my other reviews I prefer to leave the plot details for listeners to discover. I will say that as always I enjoyed Therese Plummer's narration and her ability to breathe life into the characters.

This story made my pulse pound with the action and plot but it was the characters that really sealed my overall enjoyment of the story!

Laurel Scanlon has the gift of sight, an ability passed down to the eldest daughter of each generation. It is this gift - curse, perhaps - drove her own mother mad and has left Laurel unwilling to trust in love...except in her dreams. Anxious for a new beginning, she decides to retreat to Mimosa Grove, an old estate outside Bayou Jean, Louisiana. Mimosa Grove belongs to Laurel now, bequeathed by her maternal grandmother. Laurel feels the history and tragedy here, and she senses something...unfinished.

I am a huge fan of Therese Plummer. So when I saw she had a new audiobook decided to give it a go.

It was good. if anyone is familiar with Ms. Plummer's work would know that she usually has an excellent grasp of the material and characters and this was no exception!

I did find the climax of the book a tad predictable but it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the overall story!

Iris Scanlon, Half-Moon Hollow's only daytime vampire concierge, knows more about the undead than she'd like. Running all their daylight errands - from letting in the plumber to picking up some chilled O neg - gives her a look at the not-so-glamorous side of vampire life. Her rules are strict; relationships with vamps are strictly business, not friendship - and certainly not anything else. But then she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor, and only Iris can help.

Once again this audiobook should come with disclaimers about NOT eating or drinking while listening!

As always Molly Harper brings her razor sharp wit and sense of humor to her stories. With the help of Amanda Ronconi the voices of Iris, Cal, and Gigi come blasting into life!

Since I hate reviews that give too much away as far as the plot goes, I will say that having familiar Half Moon Hollow characters making guest appearances was like coming home!

I wish Molly Harper would write more for Iris and Cal because I could see some amazing adventures with these guys!
