Midwest Lady

I listened to this because a recent speaker quoted from it. I found it as fresh and relevant to daily life and humanity as when it was written. If you have no patience for the ritual of the world and want to get to the heart of the matter, this book delivers now and well into the future. It is timeless and amazing both. You will find it worthwhile.

I am happily married but I learned a few important things about relationship and what each other needs, emotionally, to be happy. I think it also applies to other relationships. Encourage anyone to read this book. It's fast and an easy listen. Useful. Why not try to provide what the loved ones in your life need? Good advice on stopping the hot and cold cycles in relationships. Has a lot of Christian reference but if that doesn't work for you, just ignore it as the message is good for anyone of any faith, or lack thereof.

Fast. Fun. Interesting. Rewarding read. Feel good book without being one bit sappy. I liked it. Will continue reading this series.

Light but not fluffy. Fun but not frivilous. Worth your time and credit. A genuinely entertaining and interesting romantic novel. Pretty good plot definition and depth, and some twists and turns that kept one interested.

Fast, unique, fun, entertaining, not your same old same old plot. I liked it. Encourage you to give it a try. I also read the second one, and pre-ordered it I liked this one so much.

I'm a big Nora Roberts fan and found myself disappointed in this book, despite it being a good story. I thought about it a lot before I wrote this and I think it's the narrator. I like a male narrator but this one sounded like he was reading a children's book. The result was that the story was read or presented as WAY too cute. Even when the action was heavy, and there were some strong action scenes, it was like he was speaking to a group of 5 year olds. I'm having a hard time explaining but it sounded like he was reading a nursery story to young kids, and it came off as condescending. It made one view the story/book as light, and it was not light, at all.
It's a good book. The story was fast paced, entertaining and had some depth.
If this narrator reads another of Nora's books, I will not buy it.
It was disappointing because this really WAS a good book.

I have found myself quite interested in this series. The author has some depth and the story was fun. I really liked it. I have bought the first two and will probably get the next. Fast, fun, interesting and not stereotypical. Characters are unique.

I was expecting a fluffy light romance. It was that but with depth. The characters were far more interesting than "a harlequin" romance. I actually liked it. The story was fast paced and kept my interest. I got it on sale and was so pleased I will get more from this author. Don't get me wrong, it's a light romance but it had substance, style and depth.

I liked both the first and second book. Light and fast paced. Good story with enough twists to keep it interesting. I like this series.
I nearly quit listening four times but the story lured me back.
The narrator had such an intensely IRRITATING way of accenting every 3-4 words in the same manner so that if one had been walking it would be like walking down super long stairs where one's same foot kept hitting the step down!!!!
It drove me nuts.
I put the speed on 1.5 and it was a bit better and I did not have to listen to her quite as long. She only did it when narrating the non-speaking parts. When reading speaking, she was fine, and her voice was pleasant.
WHO TALKS LIKE THAT???? I have only heard young teens do that sing song speech. Just read the thing. I don't need the narrator to add drama or interpretation. A regular reading voice is fine. In this case, monotone would have been a gigantic improvement.
The author wrote a good book. The narration darned near ruined it for me. The first book didn't have this sing song or "up-speak" style.
I will get future books from the library or skip them altogether, as I really could not tolerate listening to this narrator again.

Had to work at liking it at times. Dragged in spots but turned out to be worth the effort. The premise of valuing the repression of emotions is interesting. I got the next one, so I must have liked it. I want to know how the different species work out the essential conflict.

Ritch and poor, they are all aristocrats. It's Edwardian London and they need money so they send poor Miss Tonks out to steal. What a hoot! I won't spoil it but it is funny and charming both. I like this series.
