Now, picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night plunges Diana Bishop and Matthew Clairmont into Elizabethan London, a world of spies, subterfuge, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the mysterious School of Night that includes Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh. Here, Diana must locate a witch to tutor her in magic, Matthew is forced to confront a past he thought he had put to rest, and the mystery of Ashmole 782 deepens. Deborah Harkness has crafted a gripping journey through a world of alchemy, time travel, and magical discoveries.

Where does Shadow of Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

absolutely #1. this is the BEST audio book I have ever heard. Jennifer Ikeda is amazing. Her voice is magical. She makes the characters come to life. She is so good at languages, accents and different voices. Every character has a unique voice and it makes the story flow like it is being watched on the big screen.

I totally fell in love with A Discovery of Witches but Shadow of Night has me feeling lost. I love this book so much. I already miss it and i just finished it!

What did you like best about this story?

The time travel. Just simply amazing. This book made me feel like I was there. 16th century is amazing and I feel like I was honestly there!!

What about Jennifer Ikeda’s performance did you like?

EVERYTHING! She is amazing. SIMPLY AMAZING! Everything about her is magical!

If you could take any character from Shadow of Night out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I want to adopt Jack. He is so sweet. I miss him already. Take out to dinner? Probably Diana's mom. We dont hear a lot from her but I would love to meet her!

    Any additional comments?

If you have not read this series, do so now! I admit that I got a little bored with A Discovery of Witches but it was not the books fault. Setting the stage for this magnificant story took a little time. Once I got about 1/4 of the way in, I was totally hooked. Book 3 cannot come out fast enough! This is without a doubt the best audio book I have ever heard.

But when Odd Thomas and company stop to spend the night, they discover that there’s more to this secluded haven than meets the eye - and that between life and death, there is something more frightening than either.

Even as a "short story" I was captured in this story and loved Odd Thomas all the more. I have strayed away from Odd over years and have not read any of his books since book 4 so now I am catching back up. I started with this one. I LOVED IT and I am so happy to be back in Odd's world! At first I was not so sure that Narrator David Baker was the voice for Odd but after listening for awhile, he is def the voice the Odd! Now on to book 5! PS I LOVE ED in this book!!!!!!!

West Hall, Vermont, has always been a town of strange disappearances and old legends. The most mysterious is that of Sara Harrison Shea, who, in 1908, was found dead in the field behind her house just months after the tragic death of her daughter, Gertie. Now, in present day, 19-year-old Ruthie lives in Sara's farmhouse with her mother, Alice, and her younger sister, Fawn. Alice has always insisted that they live off the grid, a decision that suddenly proves perilous when Ruthie wakes up one morning to find that Alice has vanished without a trace. Searching for clues, she is startled to find a copy of Sara Harrison Shea's diary....

How have I not read this book until now? OMG I was looking for a book around Halloween and came across this one. I thought it sounded interesting despite it having a 3.5 STAR review (I do not pay attention to reviews honestly). I am a book reviewer so I know that sounds weird but I would rather form my own opinion. There are only a few people who I really listen to as far as reviews go.

This book blew me away. I love how it wraps the past with the present and even the future. A nice ghost/horror story that brings several families together in ways that no one would ever dream of being bonded. I am so afraid of giving away any spoilers because with this book, it would be so easy! Living so close to the Devil's Hand, you can only imagine the horrors that can go along with that. OR CAN YOU? Nope you can't. Because just when you think you can, BAM something else happens. It is just so amazing. It really is. This author, Jennifer McMahon has just escalated up my OMG I LOVE THIS AUTHOR list! I must reach out to her and tell her how much I love this book!!!!

If you scare easy, might want to keep the lights on :)

If you think ghosts are only responsible for hauntings, think again. The Demonologist reveals the grave religious process behind supernatural events and how it can happen to you. Used as a text in seminaries and classrooms, this is one book you can't put down. For over five decades, Ed and Loraine Warren have been considered America's foremost experts on demonology and exorcism. With over 3,000 investigations to their credit, they reveal what actually breaks the peace in haunted houses. Don't miss the Warrens in the new blockbuster movie The Conjuring.

I admit, I was not sure what to expect going into this book. I was afraid it was going to be full of monotone, boring stated facts. IT WAS SO TOTALLY NOT!

Ed and Lorraine Warren are amazing. R.I.P. Ed Warren. I had no idea the true impact that the Warren's have had on this earth until I listened to this book. The amount of knowledge and spiritual power that both Ed and Lorraine hold is beyond comprehension. The danger and peril they have put themselves in time and time again to help others is the most selfless and devout thing another human could ever do for someone. When I found out that Ed left the mortal world in 2006, I actually wept. Tears of sadness for his amazing wife Lorraine, his family and all the lives he has touched and could have touched with the amazing power he has in his beliefs and knowledge. Ed Warren and his wife Lorraine are truly touched by God himself. They are not "men of cloth" as Ed likes to put it. I think they are something even more specialized.

I hope and pray that anyone that was blessed enough to be helped by this amazing duo has carried on the ways of the Warren's and shared in their amazing Glory. Prior to reading this book, I admit that I thought I knew a lot. After finishing this book, I realize that Ed and Lorraine Warren have taught me A LOT in the few hours I spent listening to them than I have learned the whole 41 years I have been on this earth. For this, I say "Thank you Ed and Lorraine". Someday when you two are reunited in Heaven, I hope to be able to say Thank you in Person in the Heavenly plane. I only wish I could have met you on earth.

There is a new Alpha Wolf in town, and she is about to change everything. Mena had all she wanted in life: a nice house, money, a successful husband who treated her like a queen. That was, until she found out her marriage was all a lie, and things she never thought could exist, did. Vampires are real. Werewolves are real. And Mena is not human anymore.

Mena has it all. The perfect husband, money, a gorgeous house and everything she could ever want. When she finds out her "perfect husband" is perfectly cheating, she does not hold back. She lets him have it and leaves. Little does she know that life as she knows it is about to change in more than the way she thinks. Cheating husband? That is the least of her worries. Meeting a drop dead amazing Vampire and finding out she is about to meet the lasted Alpha Werewolf are just a few of the newest events in her life. Oh and being human? Trivial! I am so excited to see where this series goes! Another MAJOR hit for KS Haigwood!
