The author should have developed the story instead of focusing so much on the love story... I THOUGHT this was a suspense thriller. Its really irritating to buy a book expecting action and its full of a bunch of boring love story crap. I buy these books to keep me away while driving, this one was a real snooze fest.
Nick Podehl did a good job with what he had to work with as a story teller but I will never buy anothwer David Wong book.
He could leave out vulgar language. It seemed like he said the F word just to say it and threw in the word penis as often as he could. It really is not needed. This felt like 7th grade locker room humor.
The narrator did a good job with the substandard material he had to work with.
I got disgusted and didn't finish the book so can't answer that, couldn't even finish the bulk of part one.
I think I'm just too old to enjoy this type of book. Someone in their twenties who uses the words "dude" and "seriously" a lot will probably enjoy. Being they were both used in the title, it should have clued me in, but this is the first time I've found a book THIS ANNOYING.
I can't say what I liked best about him without doing a spoiler alert. The relationship between he and Jacob sounded just like my own sons so that made him an instant hit for me.
Jessica, I loved how she had her time to shine. It was nice to have her admit that it wasn't Damiens wife that she was jealous of, that it was what Damien had found that had her panties in a bunch.
Hard to pick just one, she does a good job with all of them for the most part. Jacob was the hardest "voice" for me to get used to which is suprising since it was the first one but by the last book I couldn't see him being played any other way. In this particular book, I liked the way she did Jessica the best.
YES, I had tears running down my face when they killed off the enforcers!!!!!!!!!! I almost quit listening to it because I couldn't figure out why she'd do something like that to the backbone of the series.
A lot of the loose ends were wrapped up nicely and it was so good to see Ruth was finally captured but they really do need to do a book to wrap up the mistrals and a few other things with a real closure. Besides we need to make sure that the future really is bright and that Ruth never found a way to escape!
I couldn't stay awake for this book. I loved the other three books in the series but this book was so wordy and full of description of everything under the sun that it kept loosing me and I would fall asleep. I understand the auther is trying to paint a picture in your mind for the story but THAT much detail is not needed, it really took away from the story.
The performance was fine, it was the material he had to work with, I would listen to his performances again, he has a really good voice.
I wouldn't cut any of the scenes really, I would just not be so darned descriptive of every little detail, if you're listening to Dean Koontz, you already have a good imagination!
