The Sixth Order wields the sword of justice and smites the enemies of the Faith and the Realm. Vaelin Al Sorna was only a child of 10 when his father left him at the iron gate of the Sixth Order. The Brothers of the Sixth Order are devoted to battle, and Vaelin will be trained and hardened to the austere, celibate, and dangerous life of a Warrior of the Faith. He has no family now save the Order.

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Song to be better than the print version?

I read it then listened and I loved it both ways. I really liked the narration as the narrator did a good job and the characters did come alive. When you are reading you do not really make up different voices for characters in your head (at least I don't) so I did enjoy the audio version very much.

What other book might you compare Blood Song to and why?

I do not really think I have read a book like this but I would kind of compare it to epic movies like Gladiator.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved when Vaelin went to go save his brother from seeing his father executed and all his other brothers came to help.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole booked moved me it was a great story and I am not sure if I am going to last until the 2nd book comes out.

    Any additional comments?

I decided to get this book upon a good reads recommendation as I was in the mood for an epic story after reading Patrick Rothfuss's novels. So I decided to give this book a try. I do have to say the 1st chapter is iffy as you are in the present and the main character is grown and a prisoner going to fight for his death but its a bit confusing but wait till the 2nd chapter! Vaelin the main character will tell his life story starting when he was a young boy and given away by his father to the 6th order. You will read about his life and how he becomes the man that he is. If you could fall in love with a main character then this would be the one. The story is truly epic and will not let you go. I will just say I started this at 8am in the morning and read and listened until 10 at night I could not stop! Give this a shot you will not be dissapointed.

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

What made the experience of listening to Sycamore Row the most enjoyable?

I found it most enjoyable just because it was an excellent book that I did not want to stop listening to. I did not find it boring at all. It was very well written and the narrator did a great job.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sycamore Row?

Well in usual Grisham style it had an explosive surprise kind of wrap everything ending...which I loved.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved my Seth's brother Symion finally relives and tells what happened when they where boys and then everything falls together.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I would say both there where some funny moments and some moving parts that had me shedding a tear or two.

    Any additional comments?

If you loved Grisham of old you are going to love this book. It basically is the same characters that where in a Time to Kill (Jake Brigance) but its 3 years later. I used to just eat up his books in the 90's and would stay up all night to finish, not so much for the past couple of years with his books. He really goes back to the writing style lots of people loved and made him one of the most well known authors. Give this a shot you will be glad you did.

Acclaimed author Michael J. Sullivan created instant best sellers with his spellbinding Riyria Revelations series. This first volume introduces Royce Melborn and Hadrian Blackwater, two enterprising thieves who end up running for their lives when they’re framed for the death of the king. Trapped in a conspiracy bigger than they can imagine, their only hope is unraveling an ancient mystery - before it’s too late.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Highly I would not only recommend this series but I would pester them to read/listen to this series.

What did you like best about this story?

The friendship between Hadrian and Royce the two main characters. As the stories go on you really get involved with them and really start to care about them. Mr. Sullivan really knows how to write a good book. I laughed and I cried and you will become emotionally invested in these characters not just the main characters either. I loved the 1st book but it even gets better in book 2 (which is included).

Have you listened to any of Tim Gerard Reynolds’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No this was my first and I do so he does a great narration. Every character has their own voice and he does remarkably well female characters. He really makes them come alive.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know....just you have to see this movie? It would have to be a few movies as they could not fit it all in without ruining the story.

    Any additional comments?

I have really added this my series to my all time favorites. One thing to note there are 6 books in this series audible releases them 2 books per purchase but they do have a ending to each book so if you read one out of order it would still have a conclusion that would not feel like you where missing something.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes it is a highly entertaining listen and the narrator does a fantastic job. This is book 3 and 4 in the series and you really get to see the characters grow and you come to love them more. I will not give a description as you can read that for yourself. But I will say the 2 main Characters Royce and Hadrian are now two of my favorite fantasy heroes. The other characters in the book really are good also: Princess Arista and Amelia in book 3. This Author has done a great job and I sent him an email and he actually replied twice!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think it would have to be Hadrian for a male character and Princess Arista for female. I just love Hadrian's sense of humor and even though he is a thief he has a very good heart. With Princess Arista you get to see her grow form a spoiled princess to a true heroine who is just learning her abilities as one of the gifted (magic wielder).

Which character – as performed by Tim Gerard Reynolds – was your favorite?

It is too hard to say as he does such a good job. He makes different voices for all the characters and even does a great job for the females so you can truly imagine the characters talking.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes definately, I do not want to give away any spoilers but a few tears where shed and many laughs.

    Any additional comments?

I really suggest you give this series a chance as I am sure you will add it to your all time favorites. I listen at work sometimes and the story is so good hours will pass and I will not even realize it. When I leave work I will plug my phone into my car stereo and find myself driving slower to get home so I can listen longer!

Would you listen to Bag of Bones again? Why?

I would as it was a great story even if it was long I enjoyed every moment of it. A little bit something different from Stephen King, a ghostly love story.

What did you like best about this story?

They way it played out, it kept you guessing and I could not wait to hear what happened next.

I liked it everything, he tells it how it should be told.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

They already made a movie I think

    Any additional comments?

    Highly Reccomend.
