But they're hardly a group of warriors! They're her old friends from Winding Circle: Daja, Tris, and Briar. Sandry hardly knows them now. They've grown up and grown apart.

    I don't feel that a children's book is an apropriate forum for lesbian themes. The story was also disappointing compared to Tamora Pierce's other works. The plot was flat and plain boring at times. I wish I wouldn't have wasted a credit and 15 hours of my life.
