"Great little read"
It explains a bit about John Rain's tempestuous relationship with his lover and the reason for his return to Tokyo.
John Rain he is inscrutable.
Barry Eisler's interpretations and accents of the different characters are a delight to listen to, he should be on the stage, he is thorougly entertaining and brings the book and the characters to li
"Paul Kelly warts and all"
This audio edition makes the story come to life and is much more memorable than the print version could ever be.
The honesty and poignancy Paul brings to this life he has led up to now, may he live to write many more songs and tales.
I have only listened to his music and performances on CD and TV, so cannot compare this epic tale.
There were many moments that moved me , particularly the part when his mother passed away, it was very moving , sad and joyful for a life lived well.
Paul's honest account of his life to date, the good parts and the dark bad parts , told alphabetically like his performances of late make this a story well remembered.
"Action Packed and very believable"
Barry Eisler's narration and character portrayals are so real and believable he is a consummate showman his storyline is tight and filled with visual impressions that remain on your senses.
His character Dox is the most believable and genuine , he makes the story less dark and adds some humanity to the carnage and body count.
Very interesting and insightful, he seems to have an insiders knowledge of the machinations of the dark side of politics and security organizations.
It is wholly believable and shows the dark side of the world intelligence community and the lengths they go to to achieve their misguided ideals and objectives.all in the name of patriotism and in the national interest.
