As Robert J Sawyer indicates in his brief introduction, it is written in a higher (more screen play type) speed. (he refers to Flashback, which I can also recommend).
The narration is absolutely great. When you hear the characters one can visualize them.
The story realy captures you and the end is rather unexpected, but actually very logical. The story in general also should trigger your thoughts about what is happening in our world today.
All together a great book and wonderfull to listen too.
As in more books of sawyer there is the critical note of a Canadian towards the USA. As European I do understand where he comes from. As part of the story, the US private health insurance system is under fire. Additionally there are some more story lines to make this listen really juicy
The point where the parents figure out the origin of their daughter Amanda.
If this does not make you think you have missed the point
As pollution of the earth is still an actual issue, this book is current. Fast paced main character is certainly entertaining. Given the tactics and the way people communicate, one can date the book to be less recent (e.g. No cell phones etc) . This does not spoil the fun. Wel read and I do urge you to listen to it.
Like the detail of the online world he describes and how its is being used
Wanted to keep listening
Not specific for this book but in general:
Although it is a reality that there are a lot of extreme people in the world. Nowadays it looks like every 3rd action/fiction book has a component of (anti) terrorism in there. Here is was a part of the book but luckily it also contained other components and story lines.
The story is read rather enthusiastically which is nice for historical things. However I had the feeling that I am missing part. It seems that it is written from a specific political view point and not an unbiased historical view point. Taking this in consideration it is still an entertaining listen. Can anyone recommend the other viewpoint so I can get the story complete?
Listening to this book is absolutely great. Normally I listen to audio books during driving my car long distances, however this audio book kept me glued to my IPOD. Much to the frustration of my surroundings. I did not stop listening.
Nice plot and unexpected changes. Some parts are rather dark and a bit twisted, but I guess these parts were written during the winter. The end was a bit off and strange as it took a sudden direction to end the book.
The next book is unfortunately only abridged, which means I have to wait until the unabridged becomes available. All have fun listening
The story starts slow and all the characters are being intriduced. Once past this part the story develops and it is difficult to stop listening.
Great story with an unexpected conclusion.
