I would have enjoyed this audio book so much more if Penguin would have held back on the dramatic music/sound effects or at the VERY least lowered the VOLUME on them. I had to fast forward over one of the most dramatic scenes at the end of the book because I could barely hear the narrative over the crap! After waiting YEARS for the backlist of LKH books to be released, it's a huge disappointment to have to deal with this. I also wished they could have used the same narrator as the current books just because it's hard to get used to another narrator but that was a much smaller hurdle than the dramatic sounds...

I found this story very interesting and a great start to an urban fantasy series. I really enjoyed the main character Joanne Walker and her journey and finding out her calling as a shaman. I really look forward to the following books in the series.

I have read this book many times and really enjoyed it. I was so disappointed that it was the only one of the series that wasn't available in audio book so was very excited to see this in the new releases list. I debated over purchasing it because of the reviews on the reader. I bit the bullet and bought it and.... I did find the reader very annoying (especially based on the other audios). I really wish the sample audio had included Elena/Clay/Jeremy so I could better judge how I'd like it.
