Before the Great Wars and the Old Race of Man, there was a world populated by different beings: elves, demons, faeries, and the like. The Elves and the Demons constantly fought each other, until the Elves finally imprisoned them with the enchanted tree called the Ellcrys. Thousands of years later the Ellcrys still survives and still keeps the Demons imprisoned within the Spell of Forbidding, but not for much longer, the Ellcrys is dying.

    Aaron says: "A good story"
    "Marvelous fantasy, extremely well read"
    Overall

I have never read a Terry Brooks book I didn't like and they are particularly well suited to audio. Scott Brick is one of my favorite readers and he does a great job in all the Brooks books he reads. Listen to them all!

Logan Tom is doomed to remember the past and determined to rescue the future. Far behind him lies a boyhood cut violently short by his family's slaughter, when the forces of madness and hate swept our world after decadent excesses led to civilization's downfall. Somewhere ahead of him rests the only chance to beat back the minions of evil that are systematically killing and enslaving the last remnants of humanity.

    R. Jones says: "The start of something really good"
    "Great book; great narrator"
    Overall

I would read anything Terry Brooks wrote and I would listen to anything Dick Hill read. Neither one has ever disappointed me. Be sure and listen to the Magic Kingdom for Sale books, written by Brooks and read by Hill, too.

In this first volume of his memoirs, then-newly-qualified vet James Herriot arrives in the small Yorkshire village of Darrowby, and he has no idea what to expect. How will he get on with his new boss? The local farmers? And what will the animals think? This program is filled with hilarious and touching tales of the unpredictable Siegfried Farnon, his charming student brother Tristan, and Herriot's first encounters with a beautiful girl named Helen.

Sara says: "A Wonderful Listen--Stories That Never Get Old"
"A marvelous trip back in time"
    Overall

Herriot's books take you back to a simpler way of life. His love of animals shines through all his books. And the narrator is PERFECT!! I was sad to have them end. Be sure and listen to the other books in the series
