I can't decide if I like the book or not because the narrator is horrible. The first part of the book is riddled with overwrought, irritating exclamations - where was the director? I have gritted my teeth and suffered through Part 1 as I've already trashed two books recently that the narrator ruined for me. In future, I will make a practice of listening to a sample before I buy - good narration is paramount for a successful listening experience.

I have become a big Kate Morton fan over the past few years but this was definitely not her best work. The storyline just wasn't as compelling as usual and the characters were rather predictable. I usually really enjoy Caroline Lee's narration, but as a native Brit, I do find her attempts at local accents to be less than credible.

I purchased this book based on positive reviews but I am struggling to get through it. I really don't like the narrator, but I can't tell if it's because she has crap dialogue to get through versus not being a particularly good story-teller. Won't buy another book written by Karen Rose or narrated by Marguerite Gavin.

I rarely give up on an audible book, but between the lame dialogue, annoying fake British accent (I'm a native Brit, so I know that pronouncing "gas" as "gaaaaas" is just plain wrong.) Couldn't get past the accent quirks and blah characters I'm afraid. It's a shame because I'd already purchased All Clear, the next book in the series, so that is destined for the trash bin too.

As a native of Great Britain, I found it really hard to ignore the absolutely dreadful English and Scots accents employed by the narrator. I'm sure it isn't easy to narrate a book with such a wide range of voices and accent types, but it's really off-putting when the accents are SO bad.
