I admit I didn't finish this one. The narrator's voice drove me crazy! (Be careful--I've noticed she narrates a ton of books). The story was not my taste either. I wasn't a fan of the detached tone of Moll (the narrator). Skip this one.
The plot points were so entirely reworked for the movie. I admit I was a bit distracted by it, but I still enjoyed the book. I thought I'd get more insight into bipolar disorder but instead just enjoyed this for the story.
What can I say about Tina Fey? She is such a gifted performer! Even if you've read her book already you must listen to the audiobook. Tina brings it to life and she is total comedy magic. What a hoot! I've already listened to this book twice through and I know I'll be enjoying it periodically in years to come. Such a gem!
What can I say about Jane Eyre? It lives in my heart. The story is sweeping and emotional. The narration was insanely good. Oh how I wish the narrator would record more classics--she is a gem! Don't miss this!
I was on the edge of my (car) seat basically the whole time. Cheryl Strayed is a great storyteller and she weaves the sections about her past seamlessly with the main story. I loved the narrator and she varied the different voices beautifully. Highly recommended!
I bought this mainly for Colin Firth's narration and it did not disappoint. The story is somewhat depressing and slow at times, but I did enjoy traveling back into the past. I've found that the story has somewhat stayed with me.
I adored this! I'd always wanted to read Pride and Prejudice. I bought this book as Whispersync and it worked out perfectly to listen to large sections on my commute and still be able to read a bit on the weekends. Even though I already knew the basic storyline, I still felt quite a bit of suspense as to how Lizzie and Darcy would ever get together. The narration was superb. Highly recommended!
I enjoyed the story, especially the sections set in the past. I did not love the narration at all! The narrator's voice was annoying. I'd bought the Kindle book as well (for Whispersync) and I ended up reading much more than listening.
