"Christensen is a role model in all aspects of life"
Christensen is awesome! He is a great teacher, author, speaker, husband, father, and man of God. I have a strong appreciation for how he weaves his professional and personal life together into a powerful call to action. Read or listen to his other books, too!
"One of the epic events in modern American history"
It is very difficult to imagine that 2 kids from a nice neighborhood and a good school could get so messed up, and forever change the lives of so many innocent people. Love your kids!
"Jim Collins is consistent in his sound research"
Jim Collins continues to crank out new iterations of the same basic research, though it is updated to factor in the changing world. The result is further refinement and credibility of the aspects that make companies and leaders great. While nothing can top Good To Great, all of his books are worth hearing or reading. This one is no exception.
"High expectations dashed"
I have always been a fan of Andrew Napolitano and look forward to his analysis of current events. Unfortunately, this was not a very good book. It is rare that I have to stop listening to a book before the end. In this case, the story lines were all over the place and not presented in a compelling or spellbinding manner. I would definitely listen to other books of Napolitano's because of my respect for him. This one was just too abstract.
"We really drank the kool-aid when we elected Obama"
While there was not a lot of new information for people that closely watch the news, it was sobering to hear it all in one concise book. I don't have anything against Obama personally. My gripe is that the liberal and media establishments manufactured the image of Obama that they thought everyone wanted, and what we ended up with was the real person -- a very liberal novice in virtually every aspect of his life.
"Rob Lowe has matured into an American icon"
Above average
I have always been a fan of Rob Lowe, and while I don't agree with all of his political views, I still admire him for his many accomplishments in film and TV. It was fascinating to learn of his childhood and adult struggles and how he has overcome them to become a good husband and father. This book is well written and the audio version is in his own voice, thus making it even better.
