First let me say the story so far is fun. The reader does a good job, but I could not get used to listening to him. Went back to see if author was a guy (no); not sure why it was decided to have a male with a British accent read the book and even more confusing to me is the main female character is named Douglas. I chose this book based on recommendation from GoodReads because I liked the Outlander series so much. But seriously 3/4's of the book I have listened to so far is from Douglass's point of view and the reader's falsetto is too grating for me to continue. I wish I had purchased a print copy. I have listened to 100s of Audible books and this is one of a few times I can't adapt. By the way the ONLY thing this book has in common with Outlander is the subject of time travel.

I first read The Stand in the winter of 1980--it was first published in paperback and my husband and I took turns reading it out loud to each other those cold dark days. I loved that book and have re-read it several times. The books that came later were mixed. Loved some; hated others. But 11/22/63 is wonderful. I found myself deliberately not listening to it at times so I could drag the book out and extend my enjoyment. A friend called characters you come to know

The reader is fabulous. Loved the southern and Texan drawls.

I resisted reading this book for months--my family, co-workers and friends all highly recommended it but the synopsis didn't appeal to me in the least. Finally, stuck out of town I started on it late one afternoon--and finished before going to sleep. I am not exactly sure why I liked it so much--the writing, the characters, the plot--but it certainly charmed and delighted me. Rushed to read the second book and now anxiously awaiting the third one. This is an excellent, entertaining and thought provoking book. It's on my list of top 10 books.

I loved The Time Traveler's Wife. This book started off okay and then deteriorated to beyond ludicrous. I was so disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fun! The reader was excellent and the story line humorous as well as intriguing. By coincidence there was story on the front page of the newspaper today--a stringy goo-substance was discovered floating for miles in the Chukchi Sea. Scientists state it is organic and not from an oil spill. I wonder what the results will be if the whales feeding up here encounter it...... Also enjoyed the author's notes at the end of the book.

When I describe the basic plot of this book to friends, co-workers or even my family, universally everyone will laugh and give me that "whatever" look. Zombies?! It's not too often a book totally unlike anything else I've read comes along AND intrigues, delights and holds my attention. This one did it. It's one of those books I've thought about days after I finished it.

The story is okay and it was nice to visit again with Lindsey and friends, but if you have ever worked in a hospital as a medical professional you will find it difficult to ignore the obvious and gaping holes in the story.

The story and the reader are just fine. (It's a Harlan Coben mystery after all!) I was so disappointed with the quality of this recording The background noise actually ruined it for me. You can hear it a little in the first hour; then it fades somewhat. But during the last two hours of the book it is EXTREMELY distracting. It sounds like someone recorded over another story--the way you used to hear on poor quality cassette tapes. (I downloaded this at 4 to my ipod).

I was very disappointed in this book. I didn't think it was romantic and I didn't like any of the characters (except Noah) this time either, though I enjoyed The Notebook. I especially found irritating the author's attempt to fool the reader--which I wish I had avoided by not listening to the whole book.
