Top ten, great conclusion of a series.
The lead character is very complex and compelling, a great heroine that you feel is very real.
She reads well, but at times gets very hard to hear as she goes into a whisper mode, and with the British accent I was unable to hear what she said, even when I reverse and listen again.
Castles, magic, medieval times, royalty, intrigue and treachery all in one.
I am disappointed that this is the end of a series, but see there is an off shoot in the works. I don't often re listen to a book, but I will enjoy this trilogy over and over again.
The story line flowed easily. The narrators were easy on the ears and did an excellent job.
This book obviously was written from the heart. It is a little unpolished, just like a Texas cowboy should be. He looks deeply into his own life and the people around him. It is a shame he died so young and I hope there are plans to do a post script with this book in the future. Worth listening to many many times.
That it came from his heart without self grandiosity.
The death of a close friend who was wounded with him overseas. I could feel his pain.
We will miss this hero...
If you are not familiar with this author and/or story, the Prelude in Book two is a must read/hear before reading the first book as it explains so much of the ground work/foundation of the story line. I was lost for a lot of this first book and found it more interesting after listening to the start of the second book. That said, after the Prolog in book 2 is a complete rundown of book one, so avoid that. The author is very wordy and takes a lot of time to develop a story...this was the first time I thought about the abridged version.
Trying to figure out what was going on.
Somewhat. Some of the character accents seemed silly, like the Dracula voice.
The story was complete, but the world created has a lot of room for exploration in narrative form.
I enjoyed the book, but it has some real slow areas. I am finishing book two now and will get the third one as well.
Edge of the seat thriller based on historical fact.
Finding out how little I had learned in school about this important event in our country.
He has a flare, but I will buy the book too.
How Lincoln really died.
Should be a must learning experience in all schools. It makes learning history exciting, and it is about all the players...General Lee, General Grant, Lee Harvey Oswald and his fiancé , Mary Todd Lincoln, as well as the drunk body gaurd that failed to be there in President Lincoln's time of greatest need, to just name a few. The story starts two weeks before the assasination, goes through the final bloody battles of the Civil War, the end of this war, and concludes with the deaths of Oswald and his co conspirators. I could not stop listening to this account and will listen to it many times...
