Patrick Bateman moves among the young and trendy in 1980s Manhattan. Young, handsome, and well educated, Bateman earns his fortune on Wall Street by day while spending his nights in ways we cannot begin to fathom. Expressing his true self through torture and murder, Bateman prefigures an apocalyptic horror that no society could bear to confront.

I haven't even finished this book yet, but I must say that I have to agree with the other reviewer. This book is quite well written. But, man is it a shocker! Makes you question even the author's sanity. How can he grasp such a sick side of human depravity? I have to say this book is brilliant but DISTURBING! Don't read it if you have a weak stomach. Sexual scenes are MUCH MUCH harder core than any other book I have seen labeled "fiction" on Audible. So be warned! I don't really know if I can finish it.

Revise Us Again calls us to revisit and return to God’s original script for living. Every person follows a script for living, a life-guide that offers cues for our behavior and direction for our choices. As believers, the Word of God gives us a script for experiencing life as God intended. Yet our scripts are often distorted by our environment, our culture, and our religious traditions. As a result, all of us are in constant need of revising the scripts that we live by. Author Frank Viola believes we need to revisit and revise what it means to live the Christian life.

This is one of the most captivating books I have ever read. The attention to detail is flawless and the narrator just brings this story to life! Haunting? You bet! This book will have your hart racing with suspense, and yes, just a little fear. You won't be able to put it away!

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

This book is extremely well researched and written! I couldn't put it down once I got started. The reader was perfect! The thing that got me the most about this book is the fact that this could really happen. I have heard of such weapons in the past but I have never given them much thought. This book served as a wake up call for me. I think that as disturbing as reading this book is, it must be read if you are at all worried about what kinds of effect a terrorist attack could have on any country. The desperation of the characters in this book was something that effected me in a way that I will never forget. I pray that no group ever take this action on any other member of the human race. I can't imagine the hart of any person that would inflict this kind of attack on any other living group of people. This book has for ever changed the way I look at feeling safe in the US. I now understand a level of human depravity that I wish I had never seen. Now that I have though, I will pray for the harts of any that would even consider using such a weapon. It's a great read but it will certainly change your way of thinking for ever!

  • The Company: A Novel of the CIA

"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, [The Company] can also be read as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says Publishers Weekly.

This book is a MUST READ. As others have stated I really didn't know when the fiction began and actual events ended. This is one of the greatest books I have ever read and I have read heard hundreds of books. I found myself waking up in the middle of the night just to keep reading because I didn't want to wait for the next day. I wish the book could have gone on. You really get in to the minds and lives of the people and as I got to the end of the book I found myself to be quite sad that my trip in their lives was almost at an end. READ THIS BOOK YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!! I DID!!!!!!
