Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Teddy says: "The Book Deserves The Hype"
"Not just for teen, great for Grannies, too"
    Overall

Not quite as complex as say, Atwood's "The Year of the Flood" but still a riveting listen of a horrifying take on survival television shows. As a 56 yo woman addict of post-apocalyptic/dystopia genre I'm hooked on Katniss's story. Believable characters, if somewhat archtypical, fast paced action. First person perspective is always difficult to pull off, but Collins manages well. Bring on the sequel.

USA Today best-selling author and winner of the RITA Award, Barbara Freethy presents a captivating novel of romance and intrigue. Golden Lies is packed with dark family secrets and passionate love affairs.

    J. Elliott says: "Good story but the reader is terrible"
    "cardboard and contrived"
    Overall

Flat. Lifeless. Dull. Save your coin for something better - like an Archie comic or the back of the cereal box. A disappointment given Freethy's previous work.
