But he must set aside his personal demons when a young boy goes missing on the same day a judge commits suicide—and no one but O’Connor suspects foul play.

I tried Iron Lake as the first in a serie and, for me, a new author; I will buy the rest of the serie.

Even though I found the story slow going at times,it nonetheless snowballed into a crackerjack ending. Now I want to know what will happen between Jo and Cork.

So many deaths in such a short time, in a small town, leaves big ripples.

    How intriguing!

David Chandler is a fantastic narrator and really brought to life the characters of this book, including the women(no falsetto, thank you!).

I highly recommend this book to all mystery lover,it will surely satisfy your cravings.
The story is well crafted and with an intelligent dialogue. The writing is superlative so that in just a few words a mood is captured, a death felt.

I like this author a lot!!

Modern-day Earth woman Kyra Summers is kidnapped and wed by a seven-foot tall, thickly muscled warrior claiming to be her Sacred Mate. Life on his home planet Tryston takes some getting used to, as the laws of the world cater to erotic hedonism and leave females at the sexual subjugation of the barbarians who claim them. No one said love with an alien would come easily. Enjoy Kyra’s spicy escapades as she adjusts to life and love in another dimension.

I own all of the Trek Mi Q'an books in e-format and have been enjoying them for years.
I'm very please to see them here and I hope Audible will get the rest of them.
    The narrator is sensational!
If we had such mind blowing sex everyday of our lives nothing much would get accomplished, probably we'd become sex addicts. Hum...
The stories are highly imaginative and amusing the perfect cure for winter blues.

What disappointed you about The Becoming?

Anna Strong is a school teacher turn bounty hunter instead of a savvy and smart woman we get a school teacher indecisive and unsure of her moves. I got bored and I lost interest in the story. I'll get the second book and read it myself, if the story remains predictable then that will be the end of it for this author. I will not buy the rest of the serie as audiobooks.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Fangs Out by David Freed and its not a vampire story. I prefer Laurell K. Hamilton's vampires there's nothing G rated about them ditto with J.R. Ward,Nalini Sighn, Patricia Briggs or Tanya Huff.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Monotonous reading, no life to it all, even during the battle scenes. Anna may go into a rage but you wouldn't know it from the narrator. She is a good narrator but not for this sort of books.

What character would you cut from The Becoming?

    None,there are no superfluous character.

In the festive season of Winterfair on the planet Barrayar, Lord Miles Vorkosigan is making elaborate preparations for his wedding. The long-awaited event stirs up romance and intrigue among his eccentric family and friends, particularly for bioengineered space mercenary Sergeant Taura and shy, diffident Armsman Roic.

What did you love best about Winterfair Gifts?

Seeing Taura again and the courage she shows. Watching Roic growing.

What about Grover Gardner’s performance did you like?

Grover Gardner is a top notch reader who gives life to his characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laugh at the description of the garden supplement and the reactions of the characters.

    Any additional comments?

Others have said: "The serie is character driven..." It's true but more than that the people, under Ms Bujold's pen,are individuals you can relate to. They are a mirror of our society. Including Taura.
