"A geeks idea of great reading"
Yes, I am a geek and yes this book satisfies my tech itch completely. I have always wanted to work for NASA because I thought they were at the cutting edge of physics and science… but now I want to work for DARPA!
This book tells just enough about the history of the technology we use everyday, as well as those we will use tomorrow. Great listen!
"Great Book, Bad Performance and Editing"
No
I was embarrassed for Dick Estell and any Editors attached to this recording. Do some research; Show some respect both to the author and those great minds represented in this book.
I hope in the future Audible will re-record this Audiobook.
"Awsome"
I love the way this book is written. Charles Pellegrino wrote a passionate account of the destructive power unleashed over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. All sides of the weapons are touched, from the pain unleashed on the people of Japan to those involved in America all the way to the very center of the atomic explosion. As if through the eyes of a physicist he walks you through every millisecond of the atomic reaction and the resulting effects with the articulation of a poet. I can't wait for Audible to record more of Charles Pellegrino's work.
"Fun"
This book was very entertaining. I started listening and before I knew it I had listened all the way through. The title does little to express the entire scope of the book. But it does set the stage for just how fringe the world of investigation could be. This book is strange, funny yet intriguing.
