Her tone of voice was condescending and preachy.
Irritation. Really - you didn't know 90% of these lessons before Paris? Makes me wonder if the author EVER looked outside herself - are maybe she was a "late bloomer" and hasn't left "being the center of the Universe" yet....
Loved all the books and waiting for #4 to be available !!
Thrilling Tales of the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences
First - let me say - I love these books. Loved meeting Kevin Hearne at a book signing in Houston - and in fact - all my future dogs will be named from this series (but not Oberon for there can be only ONE Oberon).
I found while listening to this book, I missed Atticus. I got a little tired of Owen. I didn't mind Granuaile's point of view and enjoyed her story - even though it was very disconnected from Atticus. I can hardly wait until Arla can talk more !!
I am hoping the next one will be more of Atticus and Granuaile... maybe a few more apprentices? And even I am surprised I miss The Morrigan so much !!!
Also hoping Oberon's Book will be a great Novella to tide us over !!
He simply is Atticus and IS Oberon - he finds the perfect balance between Astro and Scooby Do with the Soul of Lassie...
Always the first book I listen to when a new one comes out !!
I loved the twist on time travel and the eccentricities of St. Mary's. But probably the most remarkable is that the heroine is not hour glass shaped and has to work at being fit - as most of us do. She gets messy, panicked, makes mistakes and feels occasionally hopeless as we all do. But -- she has the chance to fix it. Give this series a listen to - or two... very entertaining as well as addicting!
I found myself thinking about when my next credit was applied so I could read the next installment. I love the varied characters, the music used as artfully as the words. More!!!! More!!! More !!!
If you like Larry Correia's other Monster Hunter books - don't let the absence of Pitt put you off. It is just as interesting and full of character. Give it a try!
The cadence of the reader is so "Tough Guy" but not so exaggerated as to make it silly...
Well - I haven't read the hard copy but I do love that Jazz is used throughout the book - it adds so much to the performance and the "Soul" of the story.
The accents were spot on - love everything about the performance. If they changed readers - I may not listen.
I loved the "coming to consciousness" to the bigger and infinite world of Magic. I am also kinda geeky in that I loved the basis of the Magic in this book is based on Newton.
WARNING: Once you start book 1 -- before you know it -- you are on an addicted path!
Rolicking Good Story ! Love the connections between this and the Parasol Protectorate series - while in the same universe - did not over-rely on already told stories.
Finishing School for Spies.
I would have preferred Emily Gray but Moira did a very fine job.
Nice world building; Enjoyed the development of characters and races
Did a multitude of voices very well - did not have that "shreeek" tone to her voice
Great Fun ! Love the fact the heroine is lauded for her bodacious-ness instead of being "rail-thin"...
But also a fun story. Part animal story, part mystery, part lusty romance.
