"Southern Charm meets Northern Exposure."
I simply enjoyed this story. It was very lighthearted and funny. I adored the southern colloquialisms. They had me laughing out loud. My laughter only increased when learning about Mo’s parents (Boy, Can I relate!). This is not to take the place of the story, which was very good and kept me listening. This was a purchase I certainly will not regret.
"Great new light hearted series."
This story picks up two years after book one (Wife by Wednesday) and is well done! Love the lighthearted romance and “tough as nails” Eliza/Lisa. I also enjoyed the reappearance of characters from book one and I am glad that the characters remained the same (Their personalities didn't change in book 2). I am looking forward to book 3 in August 2013.
Re Narrator: I haven’t listened to an Eby book that I didn’t enjoy!
"Rainy Day Romance Perfect!"
I am glad I listened to other reviewers and tried this book. I was looking for a light fun read, with a perfect happily ever after and this book fit perfectly. Tanya Eby is always a great narrator and does this story justice. I enjoyed this one so much, I rushed and picked up book 2 (Married by Monday) and cannot wait until the 3rd book (Fiancé by Friday) which is due out August 2013.
"Perfect light hearted fun fluffy romance."
I was looking for a light and fluffy romance complete with unrealistic story to make me smile and this book fit the bill perfectly. It is a sweet story of a young woman working hard to handle everything life throws at her. The context could have been dark, but the author did an excellent job of keeping it light. Mixed with the perfect amount of comedy and the best friend. This is complete with everyone living perfectly happily every after. Excellent!!! Downloading book two now. Need Fun for a rainy day? This is the one! Great break from the heavier stuff.
"quick light read"
This was an entertaining light listen. I really enjoyed the story. Good girl gets the nerve to try to seduce her boss because he is safe and ends up with his older "bad boy brother". Except the "bad boy brother" really isn't all that bad...in fact he is really kind and considerate- she on the other hand is immature and sometimes irritating. It was certainly geared more for a younger readership. About midway through, I wanted to smack the chick and tell her to grow up and deal with her "mommy" issues. However, despite eliciting violent tendencies toward the female character, it is a fun story. I would love to hear other stories about the supporting characters in this story.
"Storg American marries an Earl"
Every title I finish in this series leaves me thinking it is better than the last. This was a heartwarming story. The characters are flawed, but redeemable. I enjoyed the strong Georgina (Gina) and how she rose to every occasion. The characters are very relatable. I was outraged that the dummy Earl didn’t even mention that he had two children until they arrived at his home! What a &%^*! However, Gina handles that too and teaches the Earl not only to love, but how to be a father and husband. Great story!
The other reviewers mention the narrator, but I thought it was fine. I believe a good narrator is one that makes you forget the story is being read and all you see is the story. This is certainly the case with this audible book.
"Regency Romance-meets Wild West."
This book made me want to travel back in time to the Wild West. It was well written and had all of my favorite qualities of a romance. I really enjoyed Angela, who is blind after a childhood illness. However, her blindness doesn’t define her character; in truth, her passion for life is her defining characteristic! I enjoyed the twists and turns. I heartily agree with another reviewer who stated that this book makes you laugh and makes you cry. There is lost love, murder, revenge, justice, and (of course) the happily ever after. It is the first in this series and very enjoyable.
"Strong female, Alpha Male and lots of humor!"
I have become a true Garwood fan. I have enjoyed her Regency Romances, contemporary romances, and romantic suspense. This novel shows that this author can write romance anywhere and anytime. It was a wonderfully delightful story. I love books with strong females and alpha males and this book has it in humorous abundance. Judith (Elizabeth) is a relatable character with modern twist. I actually found things to do so that I could keep on listening! I’ll agree that the narrator wasn’t the best, but certainly not the worst. The story is great enough that it is easy to overlook the narrator’s shortcoming. This is so worth the credit! Excellent story.
"Wonderful romance! Best in a long while!"
This is a wonderful classic romance. So often romances today feature the female falling in love and her love being unrequited by the male. This is completely different. It is the duke that falls in love at first glance and tries relentlessly to win her affection. The book is filled with twists and turns (some predictable, some not). Certainly enough drama to keep me interested and entertained. Wonderful story and narration. This is one of those stories that I regretted finishing because it is just so wonderful.
"This is not a romance... worst book ever"
This is not a romance. It was just erotic sadistic sex. There is absolutely no story whatsoever. I have never been so very disappointed in a book. It made me sick! It is a display of abuse and dysfunction. I so wish I would have listened to the other reviews and not wasted my time and money on this.
"Historical Romance with Mystery"
I really enjoyed this series! I was glad that the whispersync was available and ate it up! The characters are wonderful and very believable. Juliet is forced to go unnoticed on the fringes of the ballroom by her tyrannical mother. When her mother is suddenly pushing her to marry a creeper, she decides she must change her situation and break out of her shell. She reaches this decision just when her dear friend goes missing, which she feels obligated to investigate (and rescue her friends abandoned daughter). There are many twists and turns in the plot. Excellent story and of course, I have never regretted Flosnik as a narrator. Well worth the credit (or whispersync buy)
